I just got the results back from my sleep clinic. I already knew I had sleep apnea even when I was skinny. At times I woke up maybe like once or twice in the middle of the night but mostly to take a piss. But I'd still be hella tired. Turns out on average that I stop breathing 31 times per hour for more than 10 seconds each time!!! No wonder why I fall asleep through a ton of stuff.

I have sleep apnea. I stop breathing 80 times an hour. I have to wear a fuucking mask while I sleep. I found out about 10 years ago.

I call bullshit on my fantasy league settings. Waivers haven't run yet, I want to put a claim in on somebody, and it is telling me I can't submit a waiver claim after the wavier period is over. But he is still on waivers. WTF?

I figured that possibly you and others may bid on him given all the byes, and I'd much prefer you stick will terrible David Wilson (which is why I also snagged Daryl Richardson.) He has a better chance than Vick Ballard of putting up big numbers (since they play Carolina.) If I'm lucky, maybe he gets me through next week too.

Skins run D has actually been pretty solid. It's the passing game where they're getting killed.

I left powell alone because AZ has a fairly rough schedule (not just this week, as you already noted), from an RB fantasy perspective. But he was one of the 3 guys I was looking at.

This b!tching about Romney paying 14% taxes annoying. If your sole income is from capital gains, and the tax rate on capital gains is 15%, then that's what you pay. The implication is that is less than what the "middle class" pays. Nonsense. Everyone pays the same capital gains rate.

Remember that you were already taxed on your income before you could take what was left over to invest it at your own risk. If you happen to make the right decision and that money appreciates, why should the government get any of it?

I don't buy that argument. We all work to make our money. If we take our money and start a business, does that mean that business shouldn't be taxed? Should any business be taxed? I think capital gains should be a separate type of income with a similar structure to the current federal income. If you make less than $10,000 (or whatever the equivalent income level is) in capital gains, then you aren't taxed on it, but if you make more than $250,000 (or whatever the highest tax bracket is) then you pay that same 35% on everything you make above and beyond that level. Honestly, the 15% tax on gains DOES prevent me from investing more heavily in the market short-term, because I know that I need to make that additional 15% for it to be worthwhile, but if there is less of a barrier for those of us who can't afford to invest so heavily in the market, and a more 'fair' rate for those who are essentially using capital gains for their primary income anyway - I think the net benefit would be positive.

I completely agree on the 14% argument. I think very few middle class Americans have an effective tax rate higher than 14%. One of the reasons that his rate was 'only' 14% is because he had something like $3 million dollars in charitable contributions that he was able to deduct - more than his tax bill.

It's not an 'argument', it's my opinion. Of course businesses should be taxed, and they are. However, there should be tax incentives for keeping more of the value-added work in the U.S.

I still think that is nonsense. You earned your income, you paid your tax on that money. Now you invest it in the market at your own risk but if you make a profit on it, you're taxed again. Then if you ever spend that money, you'll be taxed on it a third time. If you die, the government will take it's share of your estate. The number of times you're taxed on the same dollar is ridiculous.

It makes no difference how much you make, since you were already taxed at the 'appropriate' tax rate the first time you earned the $$.

Honestly, the 15% tax on gains DOES prevent me from investing more heavily in the market short-term, because I know that I need to make that additional 15% for it to be worthwhile, but if there is less of a barrier for those of us who can't afford to invest so heavily in the market, and a more 'fair' rate for those who are essentially using capital gains for their primary income anyway - I think the net benefit would be positive.

So, a 15% tax is enough of a detriment to keep you from investing, but a 35% capital gains rate for 'rich' people is okay? Why?
