They still slow you down at the start of a deadlift and I generally find them to be a PITA and only use them when I have to.

I've been rope climbing at my gym now and that taxes the forearms like crazy (especially since they have a rock climbing style rope and not a typical fitness climbing rope). My forearms have seen noticeable improvement in just the last 1-2 months that I've been doing the climbing.

I have a dedicated forearm workout as part of my split. It involves seated bb wrist curls (palms up), extensions (palms down), and db wrist raises (palms facing each other...hammergrip) all done superset style.

The first 18 years of my life I made it through without a broken bone. Year 19 is when I started breaking shiit. I was in the hospital 3 separate times from Jan 1999 to April 1999.

I only have the 1's and I neglect grip. Sometimes I'll be like gung-ho about grip training for a week or so then I'll drop it due to laziness. My grip sucks.

I bought the 1, 2, 2.5 and 3 CoC. At my peak I had almost closed the 3. I swear I got it once when I was drinking, lol, but that memory is suspect. Last I checked there was a CoC 4 which took something like 375 lbs to close and only a few guys in the world had done it. I would not want to tangle with those guys.

I think it's awesome having freakishly strong grip. I'll be messing around with my gf and she thinks I have some kind of robot strength... Edit: problem is I can hurt her if I'm not careful
