Wow. You really have drunk the kool-aid, haven't you?
I don't see where I was bitching about election results. We were talking about principles. You're the only one who's talking about republicans vs. democrats. It makes no difference to me which party is in office. I do care about individual policies or principles, however.
You, on the other hand, only seem to care about who won. Take off the party hat and wash off the confetti, son. The country is in trouble and headed for more, and the politicians are not the altruistic group you think about half of them are.☠ By reading this post, you have agreed to my negative reputation terms of service.

Old terms like "socialism" vs "free market" are overly simplistic and too broad-based to make specific arguments. We have a complex combination of both in an attempt to reap the benefits and minimize the negatives of each. Neither R nor O is 100% either one, nor are people as bad of hippocrates as you make them out to be, if you keep that in mind.
I know saying "those people suck" makes you feel better, but "they" really are just as attuned as we are.Time To Re-Schedule

Wow, the Tea Party sure threw Romney under the bus quickly.
One of their own would have been defeated by a larger margin. S'truth.

A spokesperson blamed the loss on the fact that the Republican candidate was an "East Coast moderate," or something to that effect.
Like I said yesterday, they seem completely oblivious as to why their party is missing the boat. It isn't because of their economic philosophy.

It is on ******** as well. It is run in a similar fashion as Words with Friends.
It plays sound bytes of songs, you haev to try to guess them quickly for a higher score. Lots of categories of songs. As you play more you unlock more songs in a category. You also get coins or something as you win and you can "pay" to unlock other categories.-

I have my opinions on Ayn Rand. Which would make the libertarians in here flip.
But I'm not doing this here anymore. I don't want to make things sour with the people I enjoy chatting with on a daily basis.
I'm too compassionate (read: can't control emotions) and not mature enough to separate somebody's political views with what I perceive to be their basic character.
Yet.
I know it's wrong, and I'm working on it. Give me a year or two to fully grow up.

No, what I'm saying is that you didn't read that. Somewhere along the way, someone taught you to read. Perhaps a parent or a teacher. Then someone either assigned the book for reading, or encouraged the intellectual curiosity for you to check it out on your own. There was a bookstore or library that made the book available to you. In some way, all of us had a part in your reading the book.

I assumed as much. I was going to get it out anyway.
But seriously, I know what it's like to feel so strongly about something that anyone in disagreement must have some kind of deep character flaw. You're a sharp guy, and I think you'll get past that in time. And, unlike a mass quantity of other people I know that supported B-Rock, your motives were well-reasoned and came from a good place. We can all disagree and still be cool. I think you and I would probably have some good conversations IRL. I grew up in a rural, very conservative area and then went to universities and got to know some extremely liberal professors and students. I sided with each at different times and in the end walked away with a pretty balanced (IMO) viewpoint. I doubt anyone that knows me well could tell you that I'm not a compassionate, generous and fair-minded person. I'm sure the same would be said for Vox and the others that have expressed a different viewpoint.
Debate is healthy.
