Im not exactly sure yet but do know it was caused from my recent deployment to Afghanistan. A lot of walking with a lot of weight on our backs is what i am assuming its from. But a lot of tightness, soreness, and pain in general. I think its a tendon or muscle that is torn and not healing right but the doc today had me get a c spine x-ray done just to make sure the muscle around my spine didn't detach or something weird like that.

OK Ms Pharmacist....my prescript for the torn tri was a hydrocod / acetamin 10-325.

Barely did a thing for me. At those dosages, was it really supposed to do much?

I've never taken anything more than tylenol 3, so I did not know what to expect.

Pain is so subjective. If it was not covering your pain, it would be reasonable to request something else. With you having a legitimate injury (source of pain), I think a physician would be willing to try something stronger...unless you just wanna tough it out.

10 mg is the highest dose of hydrocodone available in tablet form (5 mg, 7.5 mg, 10 mg). How often did they prescribe it? (maybe every 4-6h as needed)

Yes to the every 4-6 hrs as needed. I used it the first 2 nights to help get some sleep. Have never taken opiates, so I did not know what to expect. Slept without anything last night, will toss the rest of the bottle out in a couple days.

You sound a lot like me. My family/friends tease me about being a pharmacist and for the most part refusing to take any medications...usually just ride things out.
