If she is going through perimenopause (stage before menopause), periods can be really inconsistent with long gaps in between them. If she hasn't had a cycle for a looooooong time though, like years, hopefully that ship has sailed.

Her recipe for turkey meatballs or mini-meatloaves (I forget what the title is), is outstanding! Really good. I made them for our lunches, and a co-worker asked me for the recipe. She made them, and her daughters (about 8 and 10, I think) loved them too!

Where do I find oat flour???? I've tried two stores already.

Do you have any markets nearby? I found oat flour at a specialist store at our city markets. Somewhere that stocks a variety of grains, flours, oils etc should have it. I have also found fine oats at the health food store that are smaller than quick oats but not as fine as the flour.

I just made her protein pumpkin bars today and they're ridiculously good. I got oat flower in the natural food section of my local supermarket if that helps. It ain't cheap though

I also think you can make your own by grinding up oats in your food processor. I think... Won't swear to that but I'm pretty sure I've seen people in various threads on this site say they've done it.

you can but it;s not the same as oat flour .. you can buy whole grain steel cut oats and buy a mill to make flour and if it's something you use regularly it's worth it

If I don't have ingredients, I try to make them up with what I have. Throw some oats in a food processor. Beat the **** out of till it resembles flour.

Edit: Whoops, should have finished reading the thread before I posted. Sorry about that! (Also, I did this with steel cut oats, and it did have some harder bits, but I would do it again.)

I honestly think if people would just look at everything in a positive manner than they would be happier person. People seem to get stressed out about the smallest issues. Stress will literally kill you faster than anything.

Agreed! Granted there are somethings in live that will genuinely get you down but sweating the small stuff and reading into things that are one out of your control and to ultimately won't effect your life in the grand scheme of things is not worth it IMO.
