The only time I really compliment women in the gym is if I see one doing squats/deadlift/bench or just lifting hard. There might only be 1 or 2 ever in like a month and it's a 1 time compliment, not incessant compliments.

I just think it's good to let them know they're doing it right. So many women don't lift and just do cardio.

I compliment men too. Anyone that has any sort of strength and isn't just fluffing the weights around.

I think that's really cool...those comments mean a lot to someone starting out. I've gotten a few from different people at the gym and it is a confidence boost.
