I would probably change
She is ultimately confined to a situation that offers: no promise of change, a home where she feels unwelcomed and misunderstood.
Although the entire sentence is confusing at the end because of the word misunderstood, having a emotion/thought-process relate to a home.
It just chugs on, not fluid, I would... just scrap that sentence and find a better ordering for what the sentence is trying to say.
1. Home where she feels unwelcomed
2. no promise of change
3. Misunderstood
Order from vague --> more specific
But you're right in saying that writing two ands in a sentence is improperSeek truth and reason

I don't mean to be that guy, but I would disregard this advice. That change doesn't make any sense. I'm not sure why there is a random colon in there, but it isn't used correctly.
If you really want to remove the ands then use a semi colon in place of the comma and remove the first 'and'. She is ultimately confined to a situation that offers no promise of change; a home where she feels unwelcome and misunderstood.

I agree. System brings a hell of a show and when they headlined Mayhem Fest a few years ago their drummer had small little box's around his drumset, so every different drum he hit light off a different light.
Some other crazy pits include:
as I Lay Dying
Slayer
Lamb of God
If you guys have ever seen them live, its quite a show.

I use floss sticks, take 30 seconds and it doesnt hurt because you can get like 50 of them for a few bucks. Just disposable when you are done.
But like seeing Mark's response below i guess we are just blessed with better teeth.
^^ Ouch, thats crazy that you hold a reasonable diet but have a lot of teeth problems. Bad luck of the draw?
