Anyone got any info about Vitamin D3 supplementation? Is it something you should only worry about if you have a deficiency or is it pretty safe just to take as a "just in case"?. I know Ian recommended 5000-10000 IUs in an interview recently.. Alan, holla at me

My levels were "high" last year and my doctor told me I didn't need to supplement with it. For what that's worth

Location: Florida and you coach baseball. I'd imagine you'd be outside a good bit soaking up the D. I don't recall any specific negatives to D overdose and if there was it was probably at an asinine level

Yes. Out in the sun alot. I never had any side effects just levels from routine physical. He didn't tell me to stop taking it just that I didn't need to. I still take it on occasion

I did have low levels early/mid last year and was prescribed it by my doctor who also recommended it on the basis of my family history of type II diabetes - apparently there is a correlation between lower insulin resistance/higher sensitivity and higher D3 levels.
I am back out of a sh!thole part of Sydney (for a few months now) to near the coast and spend a good part of any day getting some sun, and recent tests have showed my levels are normal now despite not having supplemented for some months.
You'll have to speak up, I'm wearing a towel.

Thanks gents. Being in Australia with hypersensitive British skin, I'm probably ok. But I do have an office job so not really in the sun a lot through the week. From what I have read the case seems to be that there is no harm in taking it, worst case I'm not deficient and I'm just wasting money..
