Question about DB and BB bench

ON chest day i usually do DB bench. i find that when i use bb my left shoulder feels wrong afterwards. on a bb i can do 145 lbs 5 times. with dbs i can do 55 lbs in each hand 8 times.

    chest day
    Flat DB press 3 x 6-8
    incline db 3 x 6-8
(when it is in there) decline db 3 x 6-8

    flat db flyes 3 x 8
    incline db flyes 3 x 8

    incline cable flyes 2 x 8
    incline cable flies to failure

is it ok to use dumbells to completely replace barbell? or, maybe when i can do 70 lb dumbbells i might start doing bb. not really sure

    opinions?

Seems like your volume for hitting your chest is too high, but that's up to how your body reacts personally. But there's nothing wrong with replacing BB exercises with DB exercises. You won't hit the accessory muscles required for BB Bench Press as much, but it'll work your chest fine (if not better). If your shoulder is hurting after BB though you should check your form, it's probably off which would put extra pressure on the shoulders.

can you reply with my routine edited to what you think would be better if there was less volume?

you really arent using enough frequency for your training and/or too much volume in one day.
but to answer your question, yes its fine to use dumbbells instead, but you can progress better generally using the barbell.

I'd eliminate all but one kind of flyes...do either flat DB or incline..whatever you prefer. And in terms of frequency you should try to hit your muscles twice per week, especially large groups like your chest

the logistics are difficult, i'm 15 and i dont have a car/license and i can only get rides to the gym 3, maybe 4 times a week if im lucky

and are you saying i should work legs and lats twice a week too?

that would mean i would have to be in the gym 8 days a week...

Then hit your entire upper body on one day twice a week, and do the same for your lower body. Since you'll be hitting chest twice a week you won't need so much volume. Flat/decline press and incline bench should be all you need.

You do a lot of different chest workouts in a day; I'd cut it down to 4. I do DB bench, BB bench and flyes. Then throw in a machine or cable motion. But yeah, barbell bench isn't necessary. I devote my chest size increasing to FLYES.

That's exactly what a troll would say... No, I'm just busting your balls.
Whoever told you that merged the "high protein is bad for your kidneys" and the "training more than once a week is bad" myths together. Both of which are untrue.
You can train a muscle 2-3 times a week and make pretty nice progress. Watch the volume on your routine. Too many exercises.

If your shoulders hurting during BB try bringing your chest up and slighty arching your back so your chest comes above your shoulders (if possible for your physique), eliminating the majority of their part in the exercise. Feels awkward at first but trying to bring your shoulders blades together to when doing the above helps further eliminate the shoulders part in the exercise.

You tell me, it's your diet. I think it's acceptable for your average lifter, but unacceptable for a healthnut.
