Friend tried to sell me and 2 of our buddies on it. We all told him its a scam, but he was suckered by their videos. They have to start out by buying like $200 of that energy drink that tastes like Red Bull. I told him once he starts making some money, then he could come back to me and I'd join him.

I vaguely know that Alex dude that's in OP's video. Had some classes together @ ASU. Saw him last night at a bar and he said some chit about making some ridiculous amount of money (in the tens of thousands I think) per month. Maybe it really does work for him, idk, but he got in early as fuk. I doubt you can earn much on it getting in now. Plus, like someone else said in this thread, you become "that guy" that's always trying to shill this to other people. Would rather get a real job w/ my finance degree/10.

Went on about how he and his "partners" have a nutritional company and are looking for people to join them and asked if I was looking for a job. I agreed to meet with him, but thought it was shady how he didn't really give me any details. Anyway I went to meet with him and he gives me some ****ty energy drink and starts talking about it all. 5 mins in a realized it was all bull****, got up and walked out. No doubt some people do make money from these types of schemes, but most people won't. Its all a waste of time.

well yeah got the free energy drink, but still a major waste of time. another time a girl in one of my classes that i was fairly friendly with the entire semester asked for my number one day. gave her my number and she texted me and started trying to get me to join the "billion" dollar company shes apart of saying how its a great way to make money. never texted her again, but another girl in my class fell for her ****.

I'm not asking for the morality of it, I'm asking if it is a legit business. I would never do this personally. The definition of a pyramid scheme is getting the reps without a product...if there is a product (no matter how ****ty, yes here comes the morals) then it is a legitimate business. If they sign up a certain amount of people do they get paid for it? Yes? Then how is it a scam? It obviously just depends on how successful you can be in this type of marketing...most people don't like it/question the morality of it....but it is a legitimate business. It's not a scam if they provide a payout...

Actually, there is case law on the books that says unless 70% (or more) of the product is sold to outsiders (ie people who are not "members" or "Brand Partners" if we want to use VemmaSpeak) then it falls under the definition of a pyramid scheme since growth is tied to adding more people to the business and not increasing sales to customers.

Its a scam, the way to legitimize the business model of pyramid schemes, is to provide a real product (in this case it looks like some ****ty energy drink) then promise tons of money to fools and have the mgo out and sell the same bull**** line to other fools. Most people fail because they realize they paid to sucker others in to paying to sucker others in to paying to sucker others in to paying to sucker others in to paying. The product is to keep it legal but its a waste of time.


Edit: basically if someone is offering you an opportunity and you just need to pay them to start, its a complete scam.

Edit2: You also become the scum of the earth, no one will like you because your always trying to sell your bull**** product/idea and a lot of people are too smart to fall for this **** and it puts up a red flag to the character of that person scamming.
