Unless you like wasting money, check out the Federal Mk318 for "barriers". They are about $11 a box.

yeah im really leaning towards mk262
I want something heavy with as much velocity as I can get to try and get as much range as possible out of the cartridge, so hornady superformance sounds good but it means nothing if it cannot group well
like you said, the fbi 3313 might be low velocity so that would also be undesireable
hopefully the hornady does well though since it is slightly cheaper than mk262pr's:
deadliftin: 475
benchin: 325
squatin (parallel): 415
squatin (below parallel): 385
incline dumbbell press: 115*8
front squat: 315
power clean: 260

That would be a reasonable choice.
But as an ammo whore I cannot deny that my research indicated that the top of the line bonded bullets are a little better.
Also, with my background primarily being in handguns I might have a small bias or proclivity towards Speer Gold Dot and Winchester Ranger, as I have been loading my pistols with those for years.
*Although Winchester pistol ammo has gone down the shitter recently.

After shooting my dads gun a few more times I realized I won't be buying a gun that takes 357 Sig ammo.

I can't tell if the round is what is getting to me, or the gun and it's configuration. Going to go to the range sometimes and rent their p226 in 9mm and see how different it shoots to see if it is the round vs. the gun/config.
Not only that, but DAT Expense. LAWD.
Paid 35 bucks of 357 sig range ammo yesterday. Almost told the guy to take his CCW sidearm and just shove it up my backside instead, for that price... man.Fitness Journal:

10mm > .357 sig all day long
As long as the size of the grip/gun isn't an issue, of course.
Not really. Pistols are pistols and rifles are rifles.
x39 vs 5.56 is almost to the point where it's six of one and half a dozen of the other. Almost. Not quite, there are pros/cons to each, but I put them on the same level overall. It's really more a matter of platform to go with it than cartridge when you pick one.

true man, 10mm is a beast of a round. .357 sig may be powerful as well... but i still dont find myself lusting after it. maybe if it werent so damn expensive id have a change of mind.
wimpy round. LOL thats a great way of putting it man. i admit though, i do really enjoy 9mm. so cheap comparred to other calibers.
very nice man!Merica

I wonder if you could talk to local ranges and get them to sell you their brass unprocessed and unpackaged... I go to my local range and that have a few repackaged bags of 9mm, and .40 but they have A LOT of brass I see in there buckets that I never see on their shelves...
EDIT: I just e-mailed one of my local ranges to see if they'd sell their spent brass in large quantities; hopefully without trying to get a huge profit.Last edited by stiffdogg06; 11-05-2012 at 04:39 PM.
