    MISC, I need your Chemistry help(Basic)(reps)

    It is over redox reactions. I have some homework due tomorrow in my chem class and he makes us go to the board like 4 at a time and right out the problem and process and explain everything so I really need to know it. The problem is he hasn't gotten to the redox reactions as they are the last thing in the chapter.

    Anyway, question is:

    Determine whether each reaction is a redox reaction. For each redox reaction, identify the oxidizing agent and the reducing agent.

    a) Al(s) + 3Ag^+(aq) --> Al^3+(aq) + 3 Ag(s)

    b) SO2(g) + H20(l) --> H2SO4(aq)

    c) Ba(s) + Cl2(g) --> BaCl2(s)

    d) Mg(s) + Br2(l) --> MgBr2(s)

    If someone could actually explain this that would be great..

    So you just compare the electrons before and after and determine from there IIRC.

    Redox Al being oxidized Ag being reduced

    doesn't work its not right chemical equation


    c) Ba(s) + Cl2(g) --> BaCl2(s)
    Redox Ba oxidized Cl reduced

    d) Mg(s) + Br2(l) --> MgBr2(s)
    Redox
    Mg oxidized
    Br reduced

    What is being reduced is oxidizing agents and vice versa for reducing agent
