I'm using this one from EliteFTS - http://www.flexcart.com/members/elit...d=143&pid=1465 - 4" diameter. It's a bit tougher than the normal roller.
Also good for working on your arch for benching.

Notes
* I woke up Tuesday morning and had a few things to do before I could leave for the gym. Therefore, I was a bit rushed for time once I started. Rest was kept to 3-4 minutes for the work sets. Legs felt strong but my lower back got progressively stiff from the 3rd work set on, probably due to the short rest. Once I finished the 5th and last work set, I could barely walk. I wanted to find a bench or a mat to lie down and rest my back, but I had to get home in a hurry. So it was that I limped out of the gym and to the car. It wasn't until I was home for a while before the stiffness and pain went away. My lesson from this is that I should lie down on a mat in between work sets to rest my back, or this will happen again when I'm in a time crunch.
* On the 4th work set (in the video), my stance from the walkout was a little bit too wide. As I squatted down on the first rep, my boxers ripped from the back (far from the first time, by the way). I lost focus for a brief moment, but managed to pull it together and finish out the set. It was a pair that I had thought was "safe for squatting", but apparently not lol.
* OHP at night felt heavy. I knew that my shoulders and elbows were not 100% from the frequent squatting, so this was not a surprise.

Hehehe ... I don't wear boxers because I've been so scared that they'd rip (even before I started lifting)... I wear boxer briefs, personally.

lol at ripped boxers. Boxer briefs only for me. Nice squats man. I see smolov is getting tough. I'd love to run smolov one day, but I don't see it happening until I get a rack at home.

I've ripped at least 10 pairs of boxers lol.
Might have to go with boxer briefs as some of you are suggesting. Only for squatting though ... cuz my boys like to be free
Never thought I'd see this picture in my journal lol
I have a few looser pairs of boxers I'll have to wear on squat day
Boxers > briefs
Might have to do that. Thanks for the tip Anthony!
Yeah, Smolov is getting harder. Now it seems like my back is the limiting factor. Whatever, both my back and legs should get stronger on it.
You don't want to run Smolov in the gym because it'll take too long?
