I am skepticle and let me tell you why.
First of all the average CEO in America makes 250k, so you would be making more than the average CEO in America, I can't imagine a sales region worth paying you that much for any product.
That being said let's pretend this is real.
Tell us why you might turn it down, and also understand for people working for a weekly/biweekly paycheck, the more income the lower the happiness. Prime happiness in the United States is right around 72k a year. I don't know what they woudl expect of you, but 300k a year is enough to be on the board of directors for a lot of companies. I make right around there , and I own a business, 1/3 of which that income goes back into the business and work not even kidding 24/7. I can't remember the last time I was able to sleep 8 straight hours. I can expect to be woken up around 5-7 times during the night. And I can't ignore these calls, they are from fleets, or large customers, or purchasing managers that need my word on something or else I can jeopardize their contracts with my company.
Any job in the United States paying 300k a year (Which I still believe is false) you can expect to be on the clock 24/7, have insane goals, and stress will always be the bolder on your shoulder.Belief without evidence is a fools game.

I wouldn't know. I imagine 10x better.
1) that's not the catch. I already spend 3 days a week traveling. I live in Oregon and don't work here.
The catch is that I want the promotion in CA. I know the accounts there. I like the lifestyle there. All my friends and family are there. I don't want to start from scratch
Fair points but you are unaware. Sales doesn't work that way. If i'm doing 8-12 million USD a year in sales myself, I think that a few hundred k (only a couple percent commission) is pretty normal. Every field sales guy in this industry with those numbers makes that.
I did 6 million this year myself. The job responsibitlities wouldn't change except bigger accounts. Which I WANT. Just in CA not that region. The CA spot makes more and I like it more. and I kinda want to move back to socal. Flying out of San Diego to Boise every week is a pain in the ass.
But you're right. Id be working harder and longer. Which I want to do, just not sure if I want to do it there.Last edited by Insanity_SC; 12-22-2015 at 06:04 PM.

yes, you would be a dumbass for not taking it. but it does depend... a one questions 1st
- How much more will it be from you current position. (If you don't know how to do the math it's... [300k - current income =])- I'm sorry; I couldn't hear your complaints over the sound of all this freedom!

It is fantastic but I already do that now and have for 2.5 years in this current role. It's just new, bigger accounts and different region. commission rate is the same, but bigger deals
quite a bit more. I make well over 100 and well under 300
But I may be able to get the promotion in CA. Maybe. But in sales everyone knows you go after the immediate money because everything can change month to month

Not calling fraud necessarily, but how'd you land this position so young?
Last corporate organization I was part of, the youngest outside rep pulling in that type of revenue was 31 and that was pretty unheard of. Most places seem to require 8 years experience inside rep (makes like 50-60k). I was in a similar industry, but we pushed data storage solutions.
Anyway **** I'd take it, you seem to be doubting yourself. If you're not bull****ting you've obviously got a good head on your shoulders for this line of work, why the trepidation about a region change? Just apply the same tried n' true tactics you've learned from day 1.

cause 100 grand is 100 grand. Which is awesome. but like you said, I like my spot now. I don't know if the new spot will be all it's cracked up to be. it's a question of going after immediate money/raise now or waiting it out in hopes of something better/more desirable to me
and yes, more responsibility with the bigger accounts. More pressure. More internal prying and forecasting calls and all that.
I could keep my place. I don't even live in my region now. Oregon would be my region. They said I could move to CA and still have the PNW as a region. Basically, I can live anywhere.
could move to Boise and save so much $$$Last edited by Insanity_SC; 12-22-2015 at 06:18 PM.

Are you capped on commission right now? Like is the promotion the only way to earn more currently?
And it sounds like you know what you want to do. You're happy with the current and hope something better comes up. Starting from scratch is a biiitch
edit: at that point isn't 100K only like 50 after taxes, or you up into that next next bracket*Korea Krew* *MMMC*
