I remind myself that I will only regret it if I choose to give in and not finish the set, and nothing will take that away.

I just imagine the weight being lighter than it is and I just picture myself lifting the weight up. I don't stop until the weight is up

I breathe a little deeper, exhale a bit more forcefully. Sometimes I get real cynical and think what jerks people can be, and that usually gets my blood boiling. I look at the guy jawing off with the girl, taking up a machine. I think about the young boy in the wheel chair I saw at the mall, how he will never feel the joy and exhilaration of his own youth and power. I channel all these emotions into my head, and trick myself into thinking that the answer and justice to all these problems will be absolved if I complete this lift. It's a good tactic, but when I get worked up and it fails, I feel like crap the rest of the day haha.

We have the same view on this as close to 100% as possible. Well put. esp. when most of us take walking for granted or breathing without a tank etc. Best of luck in your lifting and fitness

I use ALL the negative energy I can feel around me and do to a place where living life was beyond words to describe on the level of difficulty. Using negative energy and creating positive is a motivator for me. If I just do one more set etc, I will know if I dropped dead..I died doing something most people in this world do not want to do and that is work, especially on their health, minds, bodies.

"This 2000 pound barbell is a feather to me. I have no limits". When you act like the heavy chit you're lifting isn't heavy, it really doesn't feel as heavy as you think it would feel. Try it (srs) sometimes I can't tell the difference between 75lb dumbells and 80lb dumbells when i do DB bench simply because I have the mentality that it's all extremely light weight chit.

Strange... i find many people do think the way you do but serious time does fly by and does not mean that when u achieve that body means that you will be able to get all those girls you might be after. But the fact is not much to do with the girls but what you want to achieve. Are you doing this for the girls or for yourself? I m not trying to judge you but it up to you to set your goals higher and achieve the best body. Getting a gf is easy...

i just mentally remind myself to stick to the proper form, to trust the form, and to make sure i leverage the right muscles for maximum output, because wasting energy could lead to injury.

proper form then dig deep! you can easily see someone who wants something really bad by the way he lifts.
