But I'm currently doing P90X to slim down, then I'll work into a pure lifting routine.

It's pretty light compared to what most guys are lifting around here.


What I'm stoked about is I gain those last 3 reps within the last 6 weeks by working upper body every 4 or 5 days. I had stalled out for a long time doing the 7 day routine.

I don't much see the point in the second one - the pics only thread. IMO, it should be taken off the list of stickies.

We do sometimes post photos of our gyms, or new equipment we bought, etc. But we discuss lots of other stuff too.

As KBKB pointed we have dedicated threads for that stuff And most the regulars have their own threads (see my sig). Mostly this is for general chatting and random post bragging about new purchases lol

Photos from our hike yesterday. It was a pretty flat hike - total ascent was only about 350 feet - but we did 9.75 miles.

no i'm going to rebuy them new so i can have the warranty. not that anything is wrong with the set i have. i only use the dumbbells for 2 exercises at the moment so if i can get other rare workout equpment at a greater savings than it will cost to rebuy the dumbbells again why not? i might not sell them either i'm undecided

I don't think there's much point in selling the ones you have just so you can buy a new set with a warranty. If you really want a warranty, you might consider buying another set of handles which presumably come with a warranty. (You'll have to check on that though.)

I'm with KBKB on this one. It seems to me that you'd be better off just keeping the ones you have and worrying about parts replacement when/if it becomes an issue. The difference between what your used ones would bring on CL and what it would cost you for a replacement set ought to be sufficient to cover the cost of whatever pieces may break under normal use.

Hmmmm..... you may need to get some therapy my friend.

How much did you pay for the IM's? I can imagine that they'll sell for around $350...maybe a little more, but who knows. So you'd basically be trading them in for a warranty??? What's going to break on them and what is the likelyhood anything will break? The only thing I can imagine could be damaged are the screws and the wide plate stops on the handles. They're made so well I just believe that unless you already have a defective set, that you'd have to abuse them to hurt them.

Personally the odds of damage to me are so slim that it isn't even close to being worth "buying" the warranty for something you already have. Use the money for something else you don't have. At least think on it.....the value of the IM's isn't getting worse for the time being.

well i originally got the dumbbells with the im2000 and all the accessories, and alot of olympic plates and a olympic bar for $1325.

i'm still considering it but there is an old school sissy squat i want. they want 65. but they won't have the money till friday (already got someone that will pay the 350) and if i have to wait till then i'd have to wait till sunday since i work friday night. i get paid friday anyways. its not set in stone. i might just wait.

I just thought of another reason to hang on to your warranty-less Ironmaster Dumbbells: When you get the 165lb kit, you'll be voiding the warranty anyway, so you might as well hang onto them...

well thats true lol. i just found out i'm getting paid thursday instead of friday so i can do my trip thursday . i think i just might wait then since my main goal was to do the trip before friday. would rather do it tmw but oh well lol

Safe? Sure.

Whether you've had enough time to recover to make it worthwhile is another matter.
