Not sure if this is what you meant by using it at the local elementary school but if you haven't used it on grass, try it but don't expect to use the same amount of weight. It's a lot more difficult especially if the grass is green and plush.
I used to do a sled workout similar to yours (how I miss it) but at the beginning of my workout instead of the end.
If you have a rope, you can also tie it around the sled, push it away from you, run back to the end of the rope, then pull it towards you. It initially feels “easier" than pushing it both directions but it can kick your butt, especially if you do several trips without a break. I think I used to do 5 rounds of 5 trips with a break in between each round.

Just keep your eyes open on local craigslist and e-bay you can get any cardio stuff you want really cheap just don't get locked into any specific brand.
This is just like mine:
Its near me for sale at $60 I got mine for $5.
I don't use it as much as I should but it works like a bike or an airdyne when you hook those arms to the pedals.[]---[] Equipment Crew Member No. 11

First off... Merry Christmas and Happy holidays to everyone in the crew. Now down to business. I have been debating this for a while but I am ready to ditch my Paramount Smith machine and upgrade to a nice full rack. How much do you guys think I could squeeze out of this thing? It's in great shape, counterbalanced bar, smooth movement, plate storage.
Nothing is impossible.

That paramount is a great smith. I worked out on one at the hotel I stayed at a few months ago. Commercial smiths don't fare too well on CL around here, people have to practically give them away. Might be worth keeping if you have the room and use it for calves and misc stuff.

I've noticed the same thing in the Atlanta area. I've seen some beautiful smith machines listed for $300-400, and they'll take months to move.
That's the main reason I sold off just about all of my other plates. Matching plates make a home gym look so much better, and the CAP plates make it easy to add to my collection anytime I want."What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Lol
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

The guy I bought the weights from resales them at $.50/lb. I got the rack and bar for $200 and I picked up the bench for $75. I am happy. I just need to get to the TRS once the rain stops and get a couple of stall mats, clean out the garage and get it set up right. It works but is kind of ugly.

Merry Christmas, btches!
Nothing great going on around here, just hitting the weights and playing with the kids. Finally got around to getting the fireplace cleaned and picked up some firewood though, so it's been nice having fires the last couple nights.
Anyway, talk to ya'll later."If there must be trouble let it be in my day, that my child may have peace." -Thomas Paine
