That's kind of the way it is. Except instead of eating climbers, it snags the rappel ropes. On multiple occasions, either me or my partner would have to rappel into that vegetation (or some like it higher up) to untangle the rope so that we could continue our rappel.

Day 1 SB routine in the books.
I went wayyy too heavy on bench/squat to start lol I thought Heavy day was suppose to be 90% of your 1RPM? No way I can do 90% of my 1RPM for freaking 2 work sets of 8 :P▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #56 ▪█─────█▪

This site appears to be FUBAR. I couldn't find this thread so I searched for it. Everything seems to be out of whack. End of the world...

are leg extensions bad?
http://www.t-nation.com/free_online_...leg_extensions
http://www.livestrong.com/article/32...sion-machines/
not sure if any of that applies to leg curls done with a combo machine. i've always liked doing them and i got a nice parabody one for $25 finally. i do all kinds of leg exercises though so i dunno about those articles. thoughts?▪█───────█▪ Equipment Crew #46 ▪█───────█▪

While I don't consider myself a 'hater' of the LE, I don't personaly get any benefit from it and I don't enjoy doing them. But as for leg curls I'm a big fan, and would definately consider having one in my gym if I get a bit more space. I prefer the prone lying types as opposed to the seated variety.

I think it depends on the approach.
I think inexperienced/ill-informed lifters may use the leg extension almost exclusively for leg work. And it is great for what it does, work the quad, but does nothing to the supporting structure of the knee which can cause an imbalance which may lead to the injuries they refer to.
But if used in conjunction with other work, I think it is a solid contributor.Boomer Rep Crew #1

i do too. never could wrap my head around the seated one. felt super weird. i like that the parabody pivots down. i just have to be careful not to slide down too far and bang my head against the big mirror laying against the wall and slicing my head off guillotine style

Leg extensions make my knee hurt. Leg curls make my hamstrings hurt, but in a good way

As with most exercises, it's largely a question of how you do them. A lot of people seem to turn them into a momentum-swinging exercise where they use too much weight and heave the weight up and let it come crashing back down. Abused (or when used on a poorly design leg extension machine), they can be detrimental.
I don't know if anyone has read some of Lyle McDonald's articles on weight training, but he commented on Cressey's article when it was published a few years ago: forums.lylemcdonald.com//showpost.php?p=83690&postcount=19

all of this.
Just like squatting, they can be dangerous if done improperly, but if you do them slow and controlled they should be fine.
As for extensions vs squats - nothing is going to replace squats, not even a leg press, but they are one of the best for isolation on the quad so they can be great for definition if that's your bag.Boomer Rep Crew #1

Had a rough two days at the gym... Here are some cliffs.
trimble's shorts rip 8 inches during deep squats yesterday
trimble walks past cardio section holding his ass together but people notice and laugh including two pretty girls
trimble returns to gym today only to trip on top step
trimble's gets stones stuck in his palms and backpack flips over his head and gets stuck on his face while he's on the ground
trimble gets up and realizes the two pretty girls from yesterday are exiting the gym and laughing at him with one of their friends
trimble enters gym as he hears the two girls tell their friend about his ripped shorts yesterday
Bad things happen in threes right? Kind of nervous to see what my gym visit tomorrow brings. In the meantime I think I'll go cry myself to sleep and brainstorm how I can make them laugh on my terms next time I see them and introduce myself as touchdown trimble. 'Cause apparently I have a touch of downs...
In other news, my new shake flavour is Mango-Pineapple from Perfect Nutrition. It should probably be called Mango-Pineapple-Mouthgasm. Unreal, as are most of their flavours to be honest.▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #54 ▪█─────█▪

Thanks guys! I'll get all of you back off RC. Went to the gym tonight and nothing exciting happened. Makes me kind of wish something did happen to spice up an otherwise boring night. I guess not all bad things come in threes.
