    Meal prep/cooking style

    hey guys,

first, just curious on what everyones style of preparing/cooking meals is? for example i know once you start climbing up to and over 5 meals a day it becomes a real pain in the ass to be cooking anything that takes longer than 10 minutes per meal, so what does everyone do to mitigate that annoyance? do it one by one each meal time? prepare a bunch of meals earlier and re-heat? something else?

this has always been a real problem for me as i found that my motivation for staying on a clean diet exponentially declines very rapidly purely just because it becomes annoying to be cooking 2-3 hours each day. i've recently come across mike changs 6pack abs system and one of the parts that has interested me was his whole idea of cooking an entire weeks meals at once and then packaging it away and microwaving as needed. unfortunately while the whole idea of this sounds pretty convenient, he doesnt go into detail about how he stores his food besides in tupperware...and i can guarantee chicken isnt going to last in the fridge for a whole week. so just curious if anyone on here has had any experience either with this system or something similar in which you would only cook once or twice a week and store the rest. any tips on how to store the food? freezer sounds like the obvious answer, but i couldn't imagine frozen cooked chicken tasting so great. also assuming one doesnt use a microwave, anyone know if they make some sort of storage container that is oven friendly...and where i could perhaps get 25 of them for less than $100?

    cheers

There's no reason to force yourself to eat 5+ times a day. It's much easier and just as efficient to eat larger meals ~3x day. As far as preparing them you could easily cook a couple pounds of chicken breasts at once and use them as needed.

Personally. I either cook lunches for work over the weekend...or eat prepared stuff: (yogurt, cc, wraps/salads from Trader Joes).

As well I've had chicken stored in my fridge for a week and half I was a bit hesitant to eat the breast after so long, but it was fine.

I cook my food in bulk on Sundays and store in tupperware, it's actually pretty easy and doesn't take up much time. Chicken is fine in tupperware in the fridge for many days

I cook my meals as I go. Most of my meals take less than 20 minutes to make and most of that time I am doing something else while the food cooks. Sometimes I will cook up an extra chicken breast if I know I am going to be a little short on time later on. Food always tastes best when it's fresh off the stove.

I pre-cook my chicken to last a few days so it's ready to go. I just chop it up and stick it in some tupperware or something. I also hard boil a weeks worth of eggs in advance. Other than that I don't really do much cooking except to stick something in the microwave to heat it up.

Occasionally I'll get ambitious and cook up a big pot of something fancy like this to last a few days.

My baseline amount would be 21 eggs in a week but that does vary a bit by a few sometimes.
