some excerpts
" Romney described nearly half the country, or 47%, as people who won't "take responsibility for themselves," who are "dependent on government, who believe they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you name it."
"Romney blamed Americans who are poor or old for being poor or old. Worse, he framed their financial status as the result of their personal character"
id say its only half true

He is completely right.
America isn't called the land of opportunity for no reason..if immigrants can work 12-14 hours a day just to get by then theres no reason why Americans shouldn't be working.
People who feel victimized and think the government has a responsibility to take care of them should take a trip to a 3rd world country and see what its really like to be left completely alone.Last edited by kabs13; 09-18-2012 at 08:30 AM.

When I see immigrants moving from India, Africa, and Asia with no money or connections in America, and they are owning small businesses, why should I expect it to be impossible for Americans born and raised here to do the same? Being in Human Resources the problem isn't lack of jobs, it is skilled workers, and work ethic.

try coming to New Mexico and saying that.
brb; only hiring mexicans for yard work because they'll work for 1/4 the amount of minimum wage.
brb; don't speak Navajo/Spanish? Sorry, we're not hiring at this time
brb: businesses closing up left and right. There are entire strip malls that use to be filled with businesses that are now completely vacant.

Like he ever had a shot to begin with. He's completely out of touch with the common man.
BRB, Mormon
BRB, ultra-rich
BRB, born ultra-rich
BRB, company he was CEO of till 2002 specializes in shipping American jobs to China/India
And now he basically puts a gun in his mouth and pulls the trigger. The Republicans have got to do a much better job of picking candidates for Pres.

he is half right. A lot of people dont have jobs today because the government did no pay attention or did not care.
Now that america is screwed it will take some time before people will start taking jobs that they would never take before. People wont go from working a middle class job to flipping burgers in 24 hours like the misc expect.

I'll say this. Grew up in the projects and ghetto for a large portion of my life. Most of those people are poor due to terrible life decisions.
brb let me have 4 kids by different guys
brb let me never stress education to my kids
brb name brand clothes, but you live in project housing
brb making fun of black people that "act white."
No one wants to hear the cold hard truth in this world. Call me what you will, but living in the United States of America isnt hard.
1.Live cheaply
2.Just TRY in school.
3.Wear condoms
You will literally do OK at best

I agree, although my experience being from Canada. In my neighborhood, most of the houses are worth around $500k, and most of them are being bought buy immigrants who work either super long hours or a couple jobs, taxi drivers, small business owners, and most of these people are East Indian or Asian..
Yet not to far away there is a geared to income area run by the provincial government and everyone is white, 70% ish is on welfare, the same people I knew that lived there in elementary school still live there 15 years later... Even though these areas were first setup to help people out temporarily during low times, they are now permanent residences

Romney doesn't take into account the possibility that people may have a genetic disease, or a handicapped family member, or an accident which places them into the category of needing assistance. And even then, he hasn't explained how he's going to further help people who help themselves. He's all rhetoric, no substance, and he's fukking up really hard.
