I want to first thank Drooks & everyone over at Appnut for the opportunity to log this stack. This is my first time running a stack from Appnut so i'm pretty excited to see how this stack can help with my training.
I'm following 5/3/1 and i'm currently on my second month with the program & my 2nd week started this morning. I'm getting in right now around 2600-2800 calories, weighing in at 191lbs as of this morning. I plan to slowly bump up my calories to around 3,000 and gauge my progress from there. I'm focusing on gaining strength and weight so aesthetics aren't as important to me right now.
Sunday, Monday, Wednesday & Thursday are my training days. Lets jump right into things.
My current supplements are nothing fancy. My multi is Uni-Vite from Universal, Vitamin D3, Vitamin C, Beta Alanine(running out), Inner Armour Nitro Peak protein.
The dosing for Drive states to take it upon waking. Based off the recommended dosing of 3 pills up to 200lbs I took 3 pills preworkout when I woke up this morning. The next 3 caps can come later on in the day.
RPM's dosing states "up to 200lbs 2-3 capsules". I went with 2 pills preworkout this morning as well.
Neovar states "150-200lbs 3 capsules (6 daily). It states to take post workout with carbs. The other 3 can come later in the day per the directions. I took my first dose preworkout 10 minutes before my breakfast/post workout meal.
I've never really been a big fan of pill preworkouts but have had success with them i.e Animal Pump.
Here's a look at my workout from my workout log and my thoughts about day 1 with this stack.
Rise & shine Brothers of the Iron.
I hope all you guys are doing well on this beautiful NFL Sunday.
Today was the start of Wave 2 (second week) of 5/3/1 and it was kicked off with my Overhead press. I also took 3 videos of my three working sets. Lets jump right into this bish.
9/16/2012
Cycle 2, Wave 2, OHP 3x3+
*I did a 10 minute dynamic shoulder warm up to get the blood flowing.
Overhead press training max is at 131lbs
*Warmed up with the barbell for 2 sets for 5 reps
*Warm up sets @ 40%x5, 50%x5 & 60%x3
Working sets
Set 1
Set 2
Set 3
I felt good with my pressing and pushed for one more rep on the last set and got it. Definitely felt good hitting my goal.
BBB overhead press @ 50%
65x10, 65x10, 65x10, 65x10, 65x10
Chin ups *These were done in between my BBB press sets
Total= 35
DB JM press
30x12, 40x10, 40x8
*I really like the JM Press. I did a set of the CGB but no matter what I always feel it more in my front delts then in my triceps so I just dropped it.
DB shrugs
45x12, 45x10, 45x10
Standing Calf work & Seated calf work
That was my workout. Nothing fancy but definitely intense. I had a crazy pump through out my whole workout. I had no carbs what so ever, woke up and headed to the gym on an empty stomach. I love that feeling of being jacked during your lifting haha.
Tomorrow is my Deadlift day and that's always a good day. Till then you guys have a great Sunday.
So here are my thoughts specifically on RPM cause it's to early to comment on Drive or Neovar. These are the type that take an accumulation and continual use to see the benefits.
With RPM I didn't get hit with that energy you get usually from a powder preworkout. Now I want to mention I just wrapped up a log with Gaspari's Detonate and haven't really had a stim break like I want to. With that said I had some pretty smooth energy this morning. I really noticed a slight increase in energy occur after my dynamic shoulder warm up. This slowly increased through out my workout and I could really notice the energy slowly increasing with each set. I felt good through out my workout seeing as I was training fasted.
What really surprised me was the pump and vascularity I had. As I mentioned above I had no preworkout meal prior to hitting the gym, just what I had the evening before. The pump I had was awesome and could easily rival any other pump product out there. I had some nice vascularity through out the inner part of my forearm. Now these aren't a necessity to me like it is to others but nonetheless it's definitely a nice benefit to have.
I'm still feeling pretty good right now with no ill side effects to report from my morning dosing. I'll take my 3 caps of Drive and Neovar later today.
Thanks again Drooks and all the guys over at Appnut for this opportunity

Lol I realized I was wrong about the weight when I looked at your training max of 131. Nonetheless, great form on those. No doubt you'll be at the plates soon.
I commented about your avi because you look serious in it, but you're clowning around in the vids - which is great to see## chillin at home crew

I gotta look tough in my avi bro lol
Nah I haven't lost a lot of weight. You calling my fat bro? lol jk
I will definitely provide nothing but honest feedback.
Sorry for the last post guys. Here's my workout from yesterday taken from my workout log.
Sorry for the late post. Yesterday me, my mother in law, wife & daughter drove to Seattle to pick up our pass ports for a trip we're taking 10/5. I woke up yesterday at 5am and we headed out. The drive was fuking forever haha. My nutrition was off and wasn't able to track my macros/calories. I'm guessing I ate a little over 3k though. Not a biggie, it's only one day and i'm back on my sh!t today. I was tired as fuk though and got back from Seattle around 7:30pm.
I could of rested and just pushed my deadlift day to today but I said "nope there is no excuses" and went to the gym last night for my deadlift day.
Here is what it looked like.
9/17/2012
Cycle 2, Wave 2, Deadlift 3x3+
Deadlift training max 330lbs
*Did a quick 10 minute lower body warm up
Warm up sets 40%x5, 50%x5, 60%x3
Working sets
230x3, 265x3, 295x6
*I felt strong on my pulls last night and was very happy to pull 6 reps given the fat I was tired as fuk. I did have some help from my preworkout that i'm logging (RPM).
BBB sets @ 50%
165x10, 165x10, 165x10, 165x10, 165x10
Barbell Hip Thrust
95x10 ,95x10, 95x10
*These felt good for my glutes but I didn't really like them that much. I'm still trying to find a complimentary lift to pair for my deadlift day and might either go with good mornings or try next week the barbell sldl to see how that works out.
This was my workout from last night and it lasted about an hour. Overall for being on the road over 10 hours I felt good. Today is a rest day (much needed) followed by my bench day. I'll try to get some video of that on Wednesday.
So this is how things played out yesterday with my supplementation.
I took Drive 3 pills upon waking yesterday morning before heading to Seattle. When I left to the gym I took 3 pills of Drive along with 2 pills of RPM. I tell you this about RPM, it's just been 2 days but RPM definitely helped out yesterday with my workout. I was tired as hell when I got back from Seattle and almost didn't even go to the gym. I told myself there is no excuses for not going.
RPM is the type of preworkout you don't initially feel at first like you do with a powder preworkout. When you start to get into your workout that's when you start to feel that smooth energy come on and carry you through out your workout. It definitely carried me through my workout. What I thought might be a tiring work out that I would drag myself through, easily became an intense workout that I can honestly attribute to RPM.
I took 6 caps of Neovar when I got home with some carbs and a protein shake before heading to bed.
This morning I took 3 caps of Drive right upon waking and will take 3 caps of Neovar around lunch time.
I'll report back later today with my thoughts. Once again sorry for the late post :/Last edited by Anthony21; 09-18-2012 at 10:29 AM.

I'd go with the front squats since they hit your quads the hardest. Deadlifts already hit your lower back and posterior chain so I don't see a need to go overboard with SLDL or RDL as accessories.
Having said that, I like good mornings as accessories too. Just don't go too heavy with them after deadlifts## chillin at home crew

Last night was my deads day too and between sets I was thinking about what I could throw in between deads. I also do pulls/chins on OHP and chest day so thats out. I dont think I could or would want to throw in a leg or lower back movement in between deads thats for sure.
what about a low pull of some sort? i do krocs or DB rows sometimes low pulley subbed in on my chest day.
my split is like urs except i do, sun OHP, mon deads, thurs bench, fri squat. so 2 days rest in between i could row on that deads day i guess.Used to be fat, now just fat with a lot of muscle.

Good point bro and this is why i'm glad you're in my log, always useful info bro. I'll probably go front squats or good mornings for my accessory on my deadlift day.
Kroc row hit the upper back hard. I'll see about taking a video on my bench day tomorrow. Your right abut over doing it with the SLDL or RDL.
You have almost the same set up I have. Sun-OHP, Mon-Dead, Wed-Bench, Thurs- SquatMy training log: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=178464441
