I have gotta say it is pretty motivating to be a part of this group - mostly everyone's posts the last couple weeks showed we had a little down time and calorie surplus, then seeing the posts this week, seems like we are all getting back on schedule, awesome! I am def coming out of a surplus and it feels good to know we aren't alone and we can totally push ahead and get back on track!

Been a great week for me so far! Went back to 3 on 1 off on the workouts. All workouts went better than expected. My right knee had been giving me some trouble squatting for a while. That seems to be behind me, last night was very comfortable right in groove at 175 lbs. That is where I left off.
I have just had great workouts. It's been a while.
Back at 2600 calories, down from 3200-ish for last 2 months. So far no problems other than occasional pangs for another snack at night. Morale is high.
Time for a OBF party. Somebody put on some music.The most important aspect of weight training; whether for the athlete, bodybuilder, or average person is to better ones health and ability without injury. - Bill Pearl

Heading out to Cancun tomorrow! I am pretty excited about the trip but also the fact that we should have access to a decent gym and as always there is running on the beach Anyways I am sure the diet will slip a bit, but I have been preparing for it and I am still focused on my goals. It looks like everyone else in this thread is on track too! Keep crushing it everyone!

I slipped up for a few weeks.
Then was sick.
Today I lifted for the first time in a while & diet is solid.
I expect to hurt tomorrow.
I'm confident I can drop at least 10lbs from now until end of contest.
Which is actually just before my 41st birthday.
I do not expect abs but I expect to look better than most 41 yr olds.

On my sixth week of Wendler 5/3/1 and seeing some nice strength gains. Maybe a powerlifting meet will be in the cards in the future. A lot more manageable than competitive bodybuilding that's for sure. I should have taken a video but my son pulled a 300 lb deadlift today. Not bad for 16 years old and 160 lbs. Going for 315 next week. Been taking in higher carbs the last day or so. Treating it as a carb up then will drop them down tomorrow. Off on vacation next week so will certainly get more gym time.

Hi OBF fam! It's 5am and im quickly trying to get my post in for this week, I don't want to miss a week but we're literally heading out the door as I type. Off to cancun until next Sunday, The hotel has wifi but I heard its terrible. So this is my just in case post. I'm super psyched to hit there gym, and my mother in law wants us to do daily water aerobics...lol. I love working out in new places so I'm up for anything. Had a holiday party at the bosses house last night. It was potluck style with only appetizers and desserts. So needless to say, calories abounded! I think I did pretty good, but definitely threw out any fitbit stats for the day. I planned it to be my refeed for the week, so I can hardly call it a cheat.
In any case, today is back day, I expect a nice progression in my deads, and we'll see how I feel but will probably throw in an extra long cool out jog to burn through some of the extra baggage I picked up yesterday.
I love how much more vascular I look when lifting now. At rest I only have a few visible veins, but when lifting I love the popping out everywhere! I'm shooting to burn right down to 170 pounds for the contest now, original goal was 175 and I made that. 170 would have me be pretty 'small', then more of a recomp approach to put on some amount of size before summer? I have no clue.
