    when you buy Lean Ground Beef, do you get prepackaged branded? or butchers?

    do you get the one behind the butchers counter, so the butcher measures it out?

    or do you get the prepackaged stuff, which is branded by whichever company, and has nutrition facts on it?

    I usually buy the prepackaged stuff unless I'm at wholefoods (since I prefer the taste of that)

    but yeah in terms of nutrients it really doesn't matter...

    I am cutting and stop by the supermarket every day to get half pound of extra lean angus beef every day..the butchers must think I am a pain in the a$$ but IDC because I pass by on my way home anyways and fresh is best.

    I know this may sound stupid but I still have that "pink slime" in the back my mind. How do you know the ground beef your buying doesn't contain "pink slime"?

    Butchers will and SHOULD grind it right in front of you from a specific whole chunk of meat if you ask. That way you can see exactly where your ground beef comes from and the cut of meat that the butcher uses.

    Problem is I dont' have a local meat market where you have a butcher to grind up your beef. I just go to the market. Only way to know if you buy from a super market is if it's organic.
