Just starting out, help with calories.

    Hey,
I'm new here and just starting out and was wondering if i could get some help.
I've been looking through guides and reading up on different foods to consume but i'm having a little trouble.
    Currently my
    weight is 160lbs
    height is 6'3"
and from a body fat calculator i found online my body fat is 18.38% (it could be a little off.)

I'm aiming to have 2900 calories a day with 50% carbs, 30% protein and 20% fats.
I was thinking about trying to possibly have 4 meals a day at first and then up it to 6 to let my body adjust.
Having 4 meals a day i would need 90.5g of carbs, 45.3g of protein and 20g of fat
Having 6 meals i would need 60.3g of carbs, 30.2g of protein and 13.3g of fat.

I signed up to fitday.com and have been playing around with the food log trying to get a rough idea of what to consume for every meal.
My problem is i'm having trouble hitting the numbers with a realistic amount of food. For example, for breakfast if i have a banana, oats, 2 eggs and a slice of bread
my fat is 17.1, carbs, 62 and protein 19.8.

How strict should i be with trying to obtain these numbers for every meal? I know it's okay to mix and match a little as long as i've achieved my goal calories and 50/30/20.
Are there any tips you would be able to give in terms of diet?? I've read that protein shakes and whey is good to have to help reach those numbers.

    Thanks for reading!

EDIT: long term goal is to put on both muscle and a little bit of fat. I found a workout program i'd like to try in the workout section of the forums. In the long run i want to look toned and not sickeningly skinny.

    1) you don't have to split macros by each meal
    2) don't use ratios
    3) eat as many or as little meals as you want
    Yes... I've started a log - http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=159357321
