so i am 17 nearly 18 and i have pretty much avoided drinking, never cared for it since i just wanted to sit home and play video games(yeah..). but im closing in on 18 years old and im thinking maybe i should try it. pretty much everyone else drink, and there might be benefits from going to parties. i might get new friends, i might have a better time hanging out with my current friends and who knows maybe i can get a girlfriend, or at least get valuable experience in approaching/etc.
but my problem is this: the picture that i get of what drinking makes you is that you become stupid and start telling things you dont want to tell.
i have things and i am sure a lot of other people can relate, that i dont want to go around telling people, especially not my friends.
so how do i approach this, should i drink at home first or go to a party and just take it slow and just try not to reveal anything?

I drank for the first time on my 18th birthday (never saw the point of drinking before then).
-I got drunk
-I didn't reveal any of my secrets to anyone
-All that happened to me was I got happy and stumbled around with some friends.
-Speech was slurred so i sounded like a goof.
-It was a great night and I haven't gotten drunk since then (3 weeks ago).

Disregard age, live in Scotland, been drinking buckfast for 12 years.
Bro aslong as you don't imagine yourself acting like a ******* you won't. Be with people you trust if you're nervous, progress slowly.
Eat before hand, drink water. If you whitey, deal with it and get up and smile. You blackout, lesson learned
*woops, whitey means puke alotDogs can't look up.

Yeah you could run into those problems. Just get a buzz going like guy said above and maintain it. Honestly I dont care what anyone says, drinking and hanging out with my friends is so much fun. Everyone loosens up and it's just a great time.

If you really want to, go ahead I guess. I've only drank once and I went a little overboard. And by a little I mean a lot. Pretty much died and came back to life. But when I was drunk (prior to puking my brains out and falling asleep curled up by the toilet), I thought it was awesome and the best thing in the world. But that's how it is with every drug lol. I recommend you don't overdo it your first time, start nice and slow and then stop when you start feeling it. Don't be like me and die then get made fun of by your friends for the rest of your life. It sucks man.

i wouldn't recommend drinking every weekend if you are serious about working out and everything, but it really can't hurt to get drunk here and there (once or twice a month). Don't get so damn drunk you don't even know your name, just get a buzz and have a good time.

a few drinks and you will be fine, kno your limit you wanna get to a point where you are happy, still have the majority of your motor skills. Stay at this point by maintaining a steady drink level DO NOT get wasted that honestly isnt fun at all, you will blackout and do terrible things like not remember things like hookingup with some fat black **** 2/10 at best (give me a break i was 14 )
