I recently bought both of these and wanted to know when i should take the amino energy and if it is pointless to use if i already have assault

You could do the assault preWO and the amino energy intra. Keep in mind the amino has 80mg caffeine so you have to factor that in. You should have bought a non stim intra drink instead.
