Quick phone post update. Been at the gym all week and I'm back in Ontario with the Mrs too. Been nice getting to the gym with her.
Only real highlight for me was hitting 205lb for 4 reps on bench woo!
I'm pretty sick now though so I'm taking today off to rest.
Hope everyone has a good weekend!Training Log - The long overdue comeback: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=171218951

Hey Dude
I train competitive bodybuilders so I wanted to shoot ya a quick response.
When it comes to natural bodybuilding you win a show with Posing and Conditioning.
If you can pose and if you have really low body fat percentages (5%) then you can win the entire thing.
Also, judges don't care about your arms.
So, you don't even need any direct arm work.
Your arms will receive plenty of stimulation with Back and Chest work.
Judges like Backs, Chests, and Quads.
So, focus on those 3 muscles.
Here are 2 splits I recommend to my bodybuilding clients.
Split #1
Monday - Legs
Tuesday - Back
Wednesday - Chest
Thursday - OFF
Friday - Legs
Saturday - Back/Chest
Sunday - OFF
Split #2
Monday - Back/Chest
Tuesday - Legs
Wednesday - OFF
Thursday - Back/Chest
Friday - Legs
Saturday & Sunday - OFF
Let me know if you have any questions brotha.
Good luck

Good job on the benching .. it looks like you'll be back to benching 2pps very soon. Good that you got a whole lot of lifting in as well before you got sick. Enjoy the day 'off' and make sure you get plenty of sympathy from Mrs Mosh

Thanks all!
Health is improving and with the amazing weather we've been having, we've gone for lots of walks with the dog outside. Getting cardio in at least.
Back lifting tomorrow with a new plan.
"Mrs Mosh" is getting stronger too! Came with me for the chest day the other day and got one solid rep out with 50lb DBs on flat. Awesome! Lol! Stop injuring yourself and this won't be an issue
I'm trying to get her to join up. We'll see how that goes lol
Been a good week home at the gym and just in general. Was my birthday yesterday so I didn't get to the gym but I enjoyed a few pints. I'm starting my drive back to Calgary today. Four days in a car to get across my lovely country lolTraining Log - The long overdue comeback: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=171218951

Happy Birthday for yesterday! 4 days drive in Canada would be a bit more interesting than a 4 day drive across Australia. Snow capped mountains and lakes sh!ts all over deserts and wheat fields. Just think of your beers as a re-feed during your de-load

Thanks Andrew! I'm not sure what you know about Canada, but the snow capped mountains aren't everywhere ... there was a solid two days of prairies and fields ... the east and west sides of Canada are incredible, but the middle bits can bugger off.
I kept the beers to a minimum and indulged in the Scotch during the trip. Throat was still bothering me so I figured that would sooth it better than beers haha
Thanks Ricky!
Lots of Guinness
Thanks!
Cheers Anthony!
My week home was awesome too birthday celebrations and time spent with the mrs ... can't complain at all.
Us enjoying some wine and getting wedding plans done
And the trip wouldn't be complete without a selfie ... post delt workout ... pump was awesome!
I'm back in Calgary so I can start getting back to the gym. The drive was fun, but I'm not in any hurry to do it again. Like I said a bit up there, the middle part of Canada is boring as sin. It was a 3200km drive as well. Way too long in a car. Thankfully one of my buddies from my wedding party booked a couple days off work and came with me ... glad he hates his job!
Meal prep and gym tonight. Leg destruction! And I'm working on my fiancé to join up and post lolLast edited by moshvr; 04-22-2014 at 07:02 AM.

Guinness is my poison!
You're punching above your weight there Michael
Delts are popping! Looking like a bit of a wild man there though .. is that what happens when you move to Alberta?
And I'm looking forwards to Mrs Mosh logging her workouts!"Better to wear out than rust out!"

Ha you're not kidding ... not sure how I convinced her to marry me
Thanks dude. Yes, the scruffy unkempt look is mandatory when you live this close to mountains and work in a welding shop. It's like a code or something.
Still trying to convince her! Hopefully she'll join up!
04/22/14 - Cardio
Wanted to get legs done last night, but just had way too much to do at work and I didn't have time (gym closes early out here never had to deal with that before) so I just went in and did a quick 30 min HIIT session on the treadmill to get something done.
Tonight will be a back and calves day.Training Log - The long overdue comeback: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=171218951

04/23/14 - Back/Calves
Back it last night (not a bad pun ... )
Warmup
3 rounds of 1 min slow/30 second fast on the stairmaster
WG Lat Pull Down
2 @ 90lb x 15
1 @ 135lb x 8
1 @ 150lb x 8
1 @ 165lb x 6
1 @ 180lb x 4
focused on the negatives
Deadlifts
1 @ 135lb x 10 - warmup
3 @ 225lb x 12
Wasn't feeling like going too heavy ... figured I'd go for reps instead ... killer
DB Row/Standing Calf Raise
3 @ 55lb x 10/arm superset 3 @ BW + 60lb x 30
Rows done on an incline bench .. low incline, hand at the top of the bench and knee on the seat. 15 reps of calves done toes pointed out, 15 done toes pointed in
T-Bar Row (BB in corner of gym)
1 @ 45lb x 15
1 @ 90lb x 8
1 @ 115lb x 6
Tougher than I thought they'd be. I normally use the "v grip" for these, but the gym had welded an attachment for different bars. So I used a wider hammer grip attachment. Made them a bit more interesting
WG Lat Pull
3 @ 100lb x 20, 18, 15
Strict form reps, really focusing on that MMC, going till failure. Forearms were pretty fried by the end of this, but back was still strong. Wish I had straps... next week!
Cardio/Calves
Stairmaster @ 120 steps/min
-1 minute doing stairs, pause, 30 calf raises on step
-1 minute doing stairs, pause, 25 calf raises
-1 minute doing stairs, pause, 20 calf raises
-1 minute doing stairs, pause, 15 calf raises
-1 minute doing stairs, pause, 10 calf raises
calves seized lol
Notes:
Good session. Everything felt great. The higher rep deads did me in I think.
Another cardio session tonight then chest and shoulders tomorrowTraining Log - The long overdue comeback: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=171218951

20 rep sets on the lat pull downs going for MMC I'd say your delts got a good working out as well. Nice to see those deads ... 10+ rep sets always have me gasping. I like the calf work at the end ... you're making me feel guilty
