And Creed I never realized how big you were, you fit right in there along with the big guys. Ever think about competing or do you lift as more of a hobby?
LOL Thanks I've been trying to help Stan and Eric for the last year, after May 19th when Eric smashes the record it's time for me to get serious !!!! I love working out, but competing is where it's at for me.

It was a pleasure meeting you brother.

As of right now we're gonna just relax and have some fun, no talk of anything until at least June/July.

THIS ^^^ Stan has nothing more to prove, the risk vs reward just isn't enough.

俺は12歳、これは何だろ?
I actually competed with Sean K last weekend.
He did DL only and pulled something in the 400s which he said was a post-heart surgery PR. IIRMC he also helped two other DL only guys compete for their first time. He seemed like a respectful helpful guy for the most part IRL.
Can't really comment on his online persona though.

That third bench was pretty epic too... very inspirational. I can't even imagine what was going through his mind if he is actually planning to retire.

Lifting with Power
agreed with the previous posts. Stan definitely has nothing more to prove on the platform. He will go down as one of the sport's all-time greats. Right up there with Coan, Kirk, etc. I really wish I could see Stan break that 900 squat barrier though, would be a very cool lift. But no one can blame him if he decides to retire

Stan did what he had to do. It's extremely difficult to come back and hit a lift that you miss on the platform especially when that lift is your 100% or more. Stan did it twice once in the squat and once in the bench. I know he wanted a 900 squat, but 865 was his 100% that day. To miss it and then come back and nail is pretty sweet.
I'm guessing his thoughts were that this is my last chance and I'm gonna go out giving it all I got. Stan can still train and be around and a part of powerlifting. Creed says he wants to compete and Eric is still going. Stan can just chill, workout, helpout, and still enjoy the sport without all the aches and pains and knowing he's at the top for while. A pretty sweet deal if you ask me.
1708 total @220 Raw
