If we really knew what was going on in our government and in our world, we would get seriously pissed. They want us just concerned with our little lives, getting money to buy more **** we don't need.

ok, ill make this as quick as a can
people who work for poeple in power( considered really smart by educational standards, get straight A's work hard), study their ass of in school and learn in school what mostly wont be used in real life, but their grades in school are an indicator to people in power as to how easily they are to control, and how much "dedication they will have to their job" along with their knowledge, so pretty much schools are just training camp for everyday poeple to be brainwashed and manipulated into working for the poeple in power that will do hardly any work, yet make millions off of the work that the poeple who goto school have done. Hell some of the richest poeple in america didnt graduate college becuase they realize the key to real success isnt in education but taking advantage of other peoples education

when you are part of the traditional education system, you are learning exactly what those in power want you to learn. Therefore, you will be indoctrinated into that same system and preserve the status quo. Preserving the status quo is essential to the powerful because it ensures that they retain that power.
Indoctrination is strong. Just think about religion and political views that you most likely got from your parents. If you are gifted, maybe you stepped outside of that follower mentality and actually questioned things for yourself and learned a lot more that way.
Fun fact: in the southern U.S., the Civil War is often referred to in southern school textbooks as "The War of Northern Aggression" and the South does not teach that they lost that war.
(note to southerners: ya u lost. u mad?)

Most CEO's in corporate america have atleast a bachlors. Bill Gates and Dell are some of the richest drop outs in the world. But they're an abberantion.
Btw, don't forget about the upper middle class doctors, lawyers, engineers. Many of them open their own firm, working for themselves. They're not doing so bad either

from what i've read so far in this thread it seems to me as though the government is lying to us and brainwashing us as we hear about the problem of our economy and gas prices. its all a big lie. their hiking up prices with everything so they can lower the deficit the U.S. has from the war in iraq. this reminds of me of nixon's term in office back in the 70's.
