    This is it...finally doing it. Body By Visalus 90 day challenge.

    OK this is going to be the attempt that i make good on everything I promised myself that I would do. Cut to 185, slow clean bulk to 205 and become a fuarking beast. I started a cut August 1st, but got back into my old bad habits, and pigged out last night to the point where i puked. (a big boy beer + 50 boneless wings + 2 glasses of water). NEVER AGAIN. That was my FINAL cheat meal, and I knew it would be for one reason

    My girlfriend/baby momma has been doing this stuff called Body By Visalus, which is actually getting pretty big and is going public soon. She's been on it for a while, and its really helped her get in the best shape of her life. Not only does she use it, she's a distributor and has about 15 people under her as clients, so she gets paid to do this stuff and gets all the product she will ever need, FREE. I have used it when i'm not too hungry and just want to have it as a meal, and the stuff is really good. I told her that I would do a real "90 day challenge" just for her, and take progress pics through the way, and eventually when i finish and look damn good, i'll post it up on my FB page and on here, and hopefully will inspire some new customers for her lol.


    Anywho, here are my current stats

    6'2
    236.4 lbs

    I will be cutting at 1700 cals to start, and will go down 100 cals every 4 weeks.
    I will be doing 1 shake a day to replace 1 meal
    Gym time will depend on schedule, but i'd like to shoot for 3 days a week with heavy cardio (I bowl tuesday nights, and throw usually 7 games a night which is great cardio believe it or not)

    Bro, Just eat whatever you want, keep calories at 1800, work hard, and keep high protein moderate carbs and 60 grams of fat.

    It will come off, don't do this Body by Visalus crap, put a good protein shake inplace, You can make a nice shake for same calories and litteraly 30 more grams of protein.

    Protein powder + Water + Frozen Fruit = Godly

    Eat Chicken Breast, Brown Rice, Veggies, Fruits, stay away from white breads.

    There's no miracle to losing weight, it's all about calorie deficit, and you will wanna manage your macro's to maintain muscle mass while you lose the weight, because you won't gain any muscle, you have to have calorie surplus to gain muscle, but if you get enough food in you and do resistance training, you will minimize muscle mass loss.

    thanks for the reply man, and i'm not really new to the whole dieting/eating healthy thing. From dec 5th - may 31st i went from 283 -> 226. Since then, i've been taking it easy for the Summer. I do get plenty of protein from my daily meals, and i'm doing the body by vi just for the sheer fact that i get it for free lol. i will add a scoop of whey here and there to do a shake. Thanks for the time and advice though, its appreciated, but i'm gonna stick to this for now

    Day 3

    Decided to do my shake for breakfast this morning as I wasn't hungry when I woke up


    Apple Pie


    Ingredients
    2 Scoops Visalus
    3/4 Red Delicious Apple
    2.5 TBSP Crushed Graham

    This was by far my favorite shake I've done so far. So gooooood



    Had a little bit of an off day. I did go for a 3 1/2 mile run/walk yesterday, but ate just under my calories allotted + burned and finished at 2131 calories. Was all clean cals though, so its OK

    Day 4

    Today is my "cheat" day of the week since its the one night of the week I go out with the guys after bowling. I'm eating healthy going into tonight, as I know i'm gonna be eating a bunch of wings later haha.



    Shake of the day - Banana Cream Cheesecake

    the Jello mix really thickened up the shake. was a great texture and absolutely delicious. def gonna do this one again




    OK so this is the last time i have a cheat meal for a long time. last 2, i felt like complete **** the following day. $.10 wings and new seasonal beers are killing me. Ate 43 wings last night, had 2 pints...1 pumpkin ale and 1 shock top (as i had to try it...horrible stuff btw) and finished the day with 5K+ calories. NEVER again. No more fall offs...this is the last one. Killing 3 days of progress for 2 hours of pigging out is NOT worth it, neither is feeling like **** and crapping fire the next day. Tomorrow is another day and I will get back on track

    Day 5

    After getting sick from eating crap yet again, I am back on track. Was NOT hungry at all thismorning so i just had an iced coffee. Lunchtime rolls around, and i'm still not feeling hungry, but i made myself a delicious shake anyway

    Day 6

    Was having a great day, well under calories, had a great workout session, then my friend asked to go bowling and grab food after. I got tempted to eat with him and killed 3/4 of a thin crust large from Domino's + a pumpkin ale. Allotted cals + workout cals still made it so i was under for the day, but it could have really been a great day if i didnt sabatage myself again


    Another thing, went to make my shake and saw my gf took the shake mix with her to work, so i had to do a regular protein shake

    You want to get the results you got to get serious man. New log less than a week in and those posts are only two days apart. Stop playing around. Either learn self control and use the ability to say no, or just avoid situations all together where you know you will be tempted to eat poorly. Good luck and keep going

    Yeah I know man, simple lapse in judgement lead me to feeling like **** yet again today. Gonna hit the gym extra hard and double up on cardio to burn off yesterday's bs, and it will not happen again. my first cut from Dec 5th -> March 31st, i had exactly 1 cheat meal, and that was on my birthday. Dropped 47 pounds. Then from April 1st -May 31st, I had 3 cheat meals and dropped another 10 pounds to get to 226. Took all Summer, gained 10 pounds back, and am still trying to break habits. it will come, I have faith in myself. I have another challenge ahead of me for next Sunday as I'm going to six flags with some friends, but i'm gonna pack a cooler with cold cuts, mayo-less chicken salad, fruits, and waters/gatorade zero.

    I want you to check my log and keep my **** in check for me and make sure you rip into me if i fall off again, as that is what keeps me goin

    Day 7 - Weigh In Day

    Every 7th day, I will be weighing myself for the only time during that span to hopefully see the scale go down in a large number rather then small numbers each day, or seeing it go up one day and down another.


    although I had 2 bad days (well, 1 bad day, 1 semi-bad), i still managed to lose 4.8 pounds this first week. I know most of it is water weight, but I've also been busting my ass at the gym all week, doing heavy cardio sessions, and doing cardio on my off days. This time next week I'm making my goal to be between 227.8-228.4

    Shake of the day - Apple Pie


    Ingredients
    2 Scoops Visalus
    1 "Cup" of Motts Applesauce
    1 TBSP of Sugar Free Caramel Sauce

    This shake tasted just like liquid apple pie. so delicious. only thing that would have made it better would have been adding a few tbsp of graham cracker crumbs



    Finished the day off at 1724 calories. Had a good gym session. Worked out biceps/triceps/lats hard today and got a nice 45 minute cardio session in. Felt great after the **** day yesterday

    So 1 week in the books. Lost the weight I wanted to lose, but could have done better. Had 2 really bad meals that ruined a LOT of hard work....NO EFFIN MORE. No more cheats at all.

    Started off the day right with a nice breakfast. Scooped out wheat roll, 4 egg whites with 1 mixed in egg, 6 ounces of virginia ham and a few slices of boars head yellow american. throw a little bit of black pepper on there, and i got myself a delicious breakfast at 670 calories. I usually eat about 1/2 of that in the AM, but have a nice healthy low cal dinner planned out.

    finished off the day a bit above calories, and i think its due to switching up what i normally do. I usually have a very light breakfast, shake for lunch or dinner, and have a large meal for the other...keeping me full till bedtime. Today i had a large breakfast, shake for lunch, and a very early dinner. Ended the day with 1894 cals....which isnt too far over, and for an off day from the gym, hopefully it revitalizes my body and i can get a hard workout tomorrow

    Day 11

    Haven't logged in 2 days....mainly because my gf and i decided it was best to break up as we weren't happy together anymore. no more spark there and just keeping together for the kid....which we felt was wrong of us to do. Anyway, I was out all day yesterday so she could have time to pack up and get out of my house and i didnt want to be around for it, so i went to the gym for a bit, went bowling, and just did my own thing. didnt log, didnt have a desire to even think about it.

    Another thing, I will no longer be doing these body by vi shake things cuz she's no longer here and i wont be getting it free, so i'll just do it the old fashioned way with diet and exercise.


    I woke up nice and early thismorning, drove my younger brother to work, and got my pent up frustrations out at the gym. hit the weights hard for an hour, and did an hour on the tredmill on a 3.3 speed with a 7.5-12 incline, gradually going up.

    Decided to weigh in a little early to see how much damage I have done over the 2 non logging days, and to my surprise, i'm well under my last weigh in which i'm stoke about. I wont be posting weight until weigh-in though, so hopefully i can drop another pound or 2 over the next few days.




    Finished off the day today at 1020 calories...and with all the calories i burned at the gym and bowling last night, washing the car, cleaning the house, ect, I came in at a -312 calories on the day.

    Sorry to hear about the break up. Been through a few and they can be rough. Keep focused and stay on task. Good for you for realizing it was just time to move on and you guys werent happy. Too many people stay in failing relationships and drag them out too long when they really shouldnt.

    Dont tell yourself no cheat meals, just plan a MEAL in and dont leave it to random timing otherwise that meal becomes a day and can easily become a week..... etc. Just plan for the cheat meal/refeed or whatever you want to call it.

    thanks man, i just so badly want to hit my goal weight, and have been on this journey for so long that i want it to be over so i can start a slow/clean bulk. The first cut I did worked amazing, 1 cheat in 4 months and dropped 47 pounds, all while gaining strength at the gym in 90% of my lifts.

    After having a terrible eating day yesterday (no calorie wise, just didnt eat enough) due to me having next to no appetite, I'm going to try to force myself to eat something today. Will update log as the days progresses.

    *EDIT*

    I wound up having a good eating day today, took in 1,569 calories and had a decent workout. got a solid hour workout in, and did a lot of shadow boxing and running/jump roping in place while watching TV today to keep the heart rate going and gettin my burn in. Feeling much better about things today, and lookin in the mirror at the gym, i am finally starting to like what i see. still a LONG way to go, but I am driven and motivated like i've never been before

    keep at it and you will get there. Too many people focus on the end result and are miserable during the journey. You are changing your body daily with every workout you do and every calorie you count. You are truly in control and can do whatever you want with yourself man! KEep working hard and keep that nutrition on track. Its good to have goals but remember to appreciate where you have come from and the success you have already had.
    Only a life lived for others, is a life worthwhile.

    I'm gonna keep at it, and push myself and push myself until I finally get to be where I want, then push myself some more. I never take anything for granted, and look at my accomplishments so far and it drives me to keep pushing, because I know that I've done it before so I can do it again, and keep on doing it.


    Day 13
    So this morning I was looking to have some oatmeal for breakfast, but was kinda "meh" about it since oatmeal is kind of boring, even when adding things in, so i decided to make some Almond Toffee Oatmeal cookies. Took me 30 mins in total, and they came out amazing. I had 2 for breakfast and stopped myself for going for more since there was about 160 calories per cookie. I left the rest for my family (i have 2 brothers 2 sisters and my parents, so i knew they would be eaten)....was so hard to do since i dont EVER have cookies anymore (unless they were those nasty ass visalus ones that were like eating dust), but i'm proud of myself for stopping.

    Lunch I made myself some boneless skinless chicken breast on the George Foreman grill and smothered them in Legends sweets and zesty bbq sauce (45 cals per 2 tbsp) for a protein packed yummy lunch.

    Watched some biggest loser after eating while my daughter napped, and I decided to do some shadow boxing while watching to keep active.


    Finished my day off today well under my calories.....I had no appetite at all. My daughter kept hearing the door outside open and say "Oh momma home" and it just tore me up knowing she wont be coming back and i dont have the heart to try to explain it to a 2 year old. I took in 1075 calories, and nothing after my lunch which i ate around 12:30. Tomorrow's a new day though

    Day 14 - Weigh in

    Earlier this week I did a weigh in just to see where i was at on the scale, and got my official one done today. 226.4 lbs!!!! I'm so excited for this, because this is the last weight I saw at the end of my previous cut in May before i gained my weight back, and haven't been below this weight since 10th grade (which was 9 years ago!)

    As i've said, this break up will not get the better of me....I will use it to drive myself and better myself physically.

    Day 15 & 16 - No log

    Was extremely busy this weekend so I didn't get a chance to log here. I have had next to zero appetite for a while now, and only am eating because when i'm with my friends, and they are eating, they pester me until i do eat. Saturday I was with my daughter till around 4, dropped her off with my ex, and cleaned a bit, then went to the gym with my buddy for a while. got a solid 30 minutes in on the eliptical with a 10 resistance, and did about 30 mins of weight training. To that point, all i had was a can of sweet tea, and wasn't hungry, but he wanted to stop at white castle, and was driving, so i had to go with him. I had 5 double hamburgers and a double cheese burger with fries. A lot less then I would normally eat from that place and kept it in my macros, so no harm no foul.


    Yesterday (Sunday), I went to Six Flags NJ with a bunch of my friends. Left early in the morning, and I knew I had to eat something or I'd get sick on the 2 1/2 hour car ride, and probably puke after the roller coasters (i have never been on real ones before, just small ones). Had 2 scooped out plain bagels with a small amount of cream cheese and tomato. Didnt eat again until around 1030PM on the ride home. Stopped in and got 2 Stackers (no sauce, took the meat, cheese, bacon off and put it on the whopper for a big boy sammich') a Whopper & Sweet Potato fries with a small Dr Pepper, and a Chicken BLT wrap. 2100 cals for the meal, and about 2600-2700 on the day. I know it was over my calories for the day, but a solid 10 hours of walking from ride to ride (flash pass = 45 TOTAL minutes of waiting in 10 hours), and back and forth to the car (which was almost 3/4 a mile away lol), my FitBit ****meter calculated i walked 14 miles and burned 4700 calories, so I ate well within limits.

    I would question your eating habits, but the scale is going where you want so I cant say too much as progress is progress. I would start to get in much better habits now while its easier, as opposed to later when its really needed and a test of patience. Good job so far Mets

    going through a lot of **** right now, and i know my eating habits aren't like they should be. I'm working on getting them back into proper order. Think from here on out, i'm gonna keep a box of protein bars and a case of water in my car, and 2-3 bars in my gym bag at all times, so i'm not tempted to eat out at all and always have something that can hold me over till i get home. If I just stayed home, I'd be 100% fine, I just need to figure a way to cure temptations. I appreciate you gettin on my case about things as it is believe it or not, motivating me to want to change myself. I know the scale is moving in the right direction consistently, but who know's how long things will go like this unless I change now.

    Day 21 - Back on track

    After having a terrible few days after my gf and I broke up, I am over it and am back on the grind. Been doing well the last few days after a few days of not giving a ****. The scale really reflected how my week went, hopped on and was at 225.8, only down 1/2 a pound. This week I shall def. be a lot better

    couple days in, and i'm gonna keep on track. yesterday i had a great gym session, did 30 minutes of cardio on the treadmill with a 12.0 incline at 3MPH and worked up a HUGE sweat. Ended it with a 1 minute 12.5MPH sprint and killed it. I was a bit high on my calories for the day, but today is much better.

    Day 28 - One month down

    So this is the final weigh in of the month, and i'm going out with a bang! Did a 48 hour juice fast/cleanse (mainly because i've been sick as a dog), and late last night i broke and had a nice meal with a 32 ounce powerade (which my body held everything) and i was down to 217.2

    after the meal, and waking up this AM, i was up to 219.8, but hell, i'll take it! 6 pound loss this week!

    My weigh in this week, i did a night early. 218.8 these pics were done after i broke fast and ate a nice size dinner, little bloating, but not bad

    had a fairly good week, gained back a lot of the water weight from the juice fast. did a liquid "fast" the last 48 hours and only did protein shakes (5 in the 48 hours). Went back up to 223 or so when i got my water weight back, and was at 218.8 at the end of the 48 hours. I have been hitting the gym pretty regularly, had bowling tuesday, and had 6 hours of moving boxes today, so i didnt hit the gym those nights. Had 1 cheat "meal" all week, which was taco bell, but i kept near my macros so it wasnt all bad. Overall, things are getting easier, and now that i have more of a motivation to lose weight, i feel i can finally hit that goal weight that i want oh so bad. i can almost taste it i'm getting so close!

    Day 42

    Decided last week to try to re-start my metabolism since it slowed down dramatically. I ate double my normal cals each day except 2, and hit the gym, and wound up only gaining 3 1/2 pounds (mainly water weight). Back on track again, and cutting at 1750 for the next few weeks. Hit the gym Hard today, did some yard work, and got meals planned out through friday.

    thanks brotha, doing it for myself, my daughter, to make my ex jelly as **** when she sees me with a 6 pack, and to look good when i see my new girl (which everything is going better then i could have ever expected or imagined)


    After a re-feed last week, i'm right back to where i weighed in 2 weeks ago. Back in the right direction. Hopefully seeing Sandra next month, so i'd like to drop another 8 pounds or so by the time it happens

    Well, this week was a good one for me! Not as far as losing weight, but something more. I was selected by my favorite supp company "Controlled Labs" to do my 2nd sponsored log. I am going to be doing a log on their newest blend of protein called PROnom 23 (chocolate cupcake flavor). The stuff is absolutely delicious, and i decided i'm gonna keep it 100% clean while doing this log, just because i am so gracious they are givin me this oppertunity so i didnt want to disappoint. I took the past weekend easy, didnt count cals strictly, and gained 7 1/2 pounds in 72 hours lmfao. Most was water weight, but i still wound up gaining .2lbs in total this week, even with 4 3 days under cals + gym each of those days.
