Yeah, that was the most I've ever pulled and DL isn't my strongest point; but ill make the corrections to make it better.
Thank you for the tips; I may not have been taking a big enough breath and I'll focus on having the bar over mid-foot. I appreciate the tips! We'll see what 315 looks like next week.
Thanks for dropping in!
Yeah, I have an interest in more volume, so I switched the program midway through my log to PHAT style programming. The previous volume I had was affecting my intensity day so I decided to switch programs. Thanks for dropping in tho!
BTW - at those stats it seems like you should still be able to milk SS and continue linear progression; is there a particular reason you chose Texas Method at this time in your training? You should be able to make MUCH strength gains on something like SS for now.
Lol...calculus - it makes me cringe just thinking about it.
Meh; I make time for video games. Sundays are typically my gaming/netflix days. Nice and relaxing

Nice work bro! How do you like PHAT so far? I have seen mixed reviews on it. Some claim it is just to hard of a program to take on without a decent amount of previous gains. Others love the volume.

Yeah...good session = loads of upper body volume
My wife always asks me to join her with some of her classes eg 'step', 'balance', 'attack' and whenever I do I always find some part of me that aches. It's one of the reasons that I've started to do a few more functional/compound/plyo movements in my schedule"Better to wear out than rust out!"

Mirini' bench numbers nice work! What does CGBP target that is different from normal flat bench? By the way the last few videos you have posted have not worked without clicking on the youtube icon and watching it on youtube directly. I don't know if its my browser or not anyone else have this problem?
when I get to the video I get this at the top of the screen:This video is unlisted. Only those with the link can see it. Learn moreWorkout Journal, Currently back to Fierce 5 Novice: http://tinyurl.com/qgwrlkg

Hey.....you made those 230s look too easy! You had a few more reps left in you as well, but no point in pushing it too hard!
Form looked tight and that will stand you in good stead for bumping the bench weight next time = 235 x 5 for 3 sets? You've got it!
I'm mirin' the HS pressing as well at 2pps!"Better to wear out than rust out!"

Yeah. Not sure why. I always did a lot of pressing when i was younger and neglected legs so that may have something to do with it.
My squat is always a grinder tho! Its never easier than it was last time lol and ik that ur squats are becoming a but of a grinder too! Just gotta push through them!

Lol... I've never had someone tell me that fortunately...I'd prolly just give them the bertstare lol.
They're only cheating themselves. IMO a squat above parallel is not a proper squat. Its a half, quarter squat, or a motion just short of a squat. Simple as that.
Hey Datfox! Dave Tate describes his "pull-through" set up method here, at about 6 minutes through the video:
It REALLY helped me. Let me know if you find it helpful as I did!
Also - if it helps heres a link from T-nation that goes more in depth and compliments the vid well in regards to Tate's Six-Week BP cure.

Today was an interesting day...
Power Day
Squats
275x3x5 <-----I actually missed the last two reps on the last set but I'm going to count it because it was nothing more than a mental thing. I racked the weight and lifted it again. Felt AWESOME. Next time I'll do 280x3x5. SOOOOO close to 315.
OHP
140x3x5 <----I'm going to have to begin microloading these. Next session I'll go for 142.5.
Rows
160x3x5 <---I used the tips found in FittoFattoFit's log and found it to be a little better.
Dips
BW+80x2x6 <----I threw on the weight just to see if I could do it... and I could. I'll hit 80x2x8 next session then I'll move up to BW + 90lb dips.
Chin-ups
BW+35x2x6
BWx1x5
I skipped the dead lifts. I just couldn't pull with good form after all that heavy work. I'll find somewhere to throw them in this week though. Maybe on leg hypertrophy day...I'll prolly lower the weight and do deficit DLs on hypertrophy day, work on keeping my legs down.
Sidenote: Paranormal activity 4 rocked...creepy as hell.
And lastly: Found this and loved it; bit of a squat Natzi, yes, but its awesome...
Also...found this in the nutritional misc section...your welcome to all who view

Great job on the squatting! That was heavy and you kept your form very well. Good depth and strong out of the hole ----- you're racing towards a 3pps set in the New Year
OHPs were very good as well (no leg drive at all for those) and the dips were great for depth and strength.
I'm glad that the rows felt better so I hope that the tips proved handy
Everything is looking really good and it was a good move to leave the deads after all the other heavy work in that session.
What is your height and weight now? You look tall and you're looking really solid so I'm guessing about 6' and 200lbs"Better to wear out than rust out!"

Nice work on the squats man! Pushing some serious weight around man really impressive. Form looks great too. OHP looked like a grinder but you got it! Does your gym carry micro plates or did you have to buy some?

Thanks Hunter!
I may actually be beginning my cut a bit sooner...I don't want to get to 200 lbs then need to cut 35 lbs lol.
There's no "official cutting thread for November" in the Losing Fat section, otherwise I'd begin my cut now. I'm guessing there will be one for December and if there is I will begin my cut then.
I had to buy my own micro plates. I got them from amazon for a few bucks. Under 20 i believe.
You'll be catching up to me in no time with the weights tho. You're progression is going real well.
Keep up the great work!Last edited by Sinaku5; 10-28-2012 at 10:28 AM.
