Looks like Rogue is working on a new bench. Wonder when it will be available?

That is the Nebula Awesome utility bench. Would love it if Rogue would add some spotter's platforms to the sides! It would make the bench more stable for heavy dumbbell and incline training, as well as just more functional. It's a great bench- About 17 inches high- but spotter steps would be a vast improvement. Rogue are you listening?

http://www.raecrowther.com/benches.shtml This shows Rae Crowthers more curved version. At $895, it is not cheap but looks like a great bench. Also comes in a 4-way version.

Rae Crowther lists the weight at 125 lbs, but is really 85 lbs. They told me that the higher figure included the shipping pallet. It is available in 7 gauge, however. Adding spotters platforms would make the 11 gauge model more stable in decline positions, also. It would probably eliminate the need for a 7 gauge version.

Rogue has really been upping their product offering. It looks to me like they are trying to get into the NFL/University Football market.

It surprises me how many people refuse to buy equipment from Elitefts because its too expensive but they will buy equipment from their competitors, then continue to go on EFS website to educate themselves for FREE

I agree, nice bench but for that price i expected some spotter steps and 2x3 tubing throughout. Im not sold on the rubber feet, seems like it might make the bench wobble from side to side over time. I wish they would post more pics but at least they post alot of specs(unlike their competition).
The Rogue bench is $950 shipped to my door
There is too much competition for that bench to cost that much
Sorinex NP $600 shipped
Legend 3 way $600 shipped
Legend 4 way $700 shipped
Pendlay elite adjustable bench $375shippedLast edited by 817boy; 02-20-2013 at 01:50 PM.

Bloodtype,
I believe you are right. I don't think this bench was ever geared toward the home market. If you look at the price point it does compare favorably to the EFS collegiate bench in price ($829 + $165 shipped) and the Sorinex 0-90 degree bench ($949). And there are benches that are north of the $1,000 mark such as Power Lift's "Lever Action Bench", Rogers "Synchro Bench", Cybex's "Big Iron Adjustable Bench" and UCS's "Adjustable Incline Bench". Those benches however, are made from 7 gauge steel and and can be docked into a rack. Make no mistake though, those benches are marketed toward Collegiate and Professional and strength and conditioning facilities.
I think this may be a move by Rogue to get more involved in the lucrative athletic market. It is a vey well built bench that offers plenty of adjustability with the seat and back pad. That is my take.

IMO if they want to expand from home gyms or crossfit gyms to Professional strength facilities they need to offer color schemes. The black on black is boring(to me) and colleges/professional sports want their equipment to color cordinate w/ their mascot or team colors.

Well some may believe that Glassman left the building sometime ago. He and Dave Castro have run off some very good people, such as Greg Everett who heads up Catalyst Athletics. I think that Crossfit is here to stay, but it will evolve. Some affiliates certainly have distanced themselves away from what is coming from HQ.

Yes at least some basic colors would be very nice, something like that....matte black is like economy special vs a glossy mars red.
Maybe open a custom shop...if you want black, yes you can have black tomorrow. If you want red or white or whatever wait until the next run and pay the upcharge / service charge...its just a business if matte black is their business model on everything more power to them, I can see that.
Just that some people like colors on things like the R3 in red or white etc...[]---[] Equipment Crew #6 []---[]
