Thanks for being patient Drea!
So this weekend was awesome! I did not walk out with the total I wanted but that is fine. I opened 44/56/100 and that was my total. So I will call that a win. A friend of mine was coaching me since Richard had to go to his granddaughter's first communion. I told her up front that I wanted to go all out. With that said I let her make the calls and I did the best I could. The first snatch at 44 went well. I almost got red lighted though cause I totally forgot the judges have to give you the down command. I was looking out the back door not at the judges. Luckily, when I did start to drop i locked eyes with the head judge to acknowledge I screwed up. She kinda gave me this look like don't do it again and they gave it to me. She was doing the down motion when I dropped it. The next snatch at 47 felt so light off the ground that I didn't kick/extend enough. I should ahve made Jennifer let me repeat it but she called 50 and I just went with it. On CJ, I nailed 53 in warm up and she upped my opener to 56. I nailed it. Then she called 60. This is the clean that I was scared to do 2 weeks ago in my mock meet. I clean that b*tch like I owned it. Then I whacked my chin with the bar in the jerk! LOL! It still hurts. I guess I got so excited I made the clean! Anyways, I followed myself and was able to make the 60 clean a second time within 2 min but didn't make the jerk. So all in all it is all good. I PR'ed my clean 4K in 2 weeks. And I will NEVER be upset about that. That 60 clean is less than 3 K from bodyweight. soon.jep! Anyway here is the footage. I am missing the 56 CJ though so be warned.
Also, I woke up this am still under 63K and I call that TOTAL win! Normally after a meet I bounce up 1.5-2.5K and have to work it back off. So yippee! And I am finally really happy with the way I look. I almost took a naked pic and sent it to hubs from the hotel bathroom. Damn they got big mirrors and bright lights! LOL!
Other than that I had a great time helping working the meet. I ran cards for 3 sessions and worked weigh in for one. I had to tell this one coach to get the fuk out of here doing cards in the men's Sat session. He was being a total jerk wad. He was trying to buy his lifter more time which I totally get, but yelling at me that I am wrong when i was not to get his was was a bad idea at that point. I enjoyed doing weigh in. It was fun to cheer all the girls on before they lifted and listed to their hope and concerns.
Now onto MMA. I do not have the footage, it is on her phone. She did awesome!! She went 6/6 and 56/74/130. I couldn't be more proud of her for coming and sticking it out. And as always it was fun to hang out with her.
I love weight lifting as a sport. The people are amazing. There was a master female lifter there that was blind and I can not tell you how inspirational that was.
Now time to get back to work for World Cup. I heard rumor that there will be at least 2 meets this summer before World Cup. So hoping to sign up for at least one of those as a last brush up before the big one!
Hope you guys had a great weekend. i have to run and do some work and go to the gym. No rest for the dedicated or the crazy I guess! Will catch up with everyone soon!Spoon Barbell Club

I can confirm that mani rocked it this weekend!!! WE even had some auxillary fun in the adrenaline department trying to navigate flooded roadways and wall clouds with tornados. But, she killed it. And like hobbes said, a serious win for being able to be happy with how you look. Congrats!!!!
As for me, I enjoyed hanging out with Jani and watching other people lift. I'm happy that I went 6/6, but I will admit it is probably not something I would continue to "compete" in. For me, it is simply too much hurry up and wait. If it wasn't for Jani coaching me and telling me what to do when, I would have been completely lost (Thank YOU!!! Jani.) I enjoy doing the lifts in the gym for a workout, and I ultimately get the most enjoyment out of watching and encouraging and being an awesome cheerleader for Jani and the other lifters.
Lots of win this weekend that's for sure."There's something about a heavy weight that makes a body not want to get under it. Part of the fun of weightlifting is rousing one's spirit and getting under a heavy weight in spite of one's more sensible survival instincts." -Stenn

Amazing work double J!
Looks like you were having a blast!
Careful banging the bar off your face! (I've done that a time or two doing regular old OHP, never mind tossing it around like you do Oly style!)

THanks Tamara. The cool thing is that even though I didn't total any better I am still super proud of myself as well.
It is nice to have someone help you. It makes it easier and less to think about!
Ovaries to the wall for sure. I am so sore and tired today. I went to go lift this am and was sucking wind before I finished my first set of snatch triples. Needless to say I didn't do much and have decided to take the next couple days off. And yes I am ahppy with where I am these days. I feel really good about myself and that is a nice place to be!
You are so welcome. It was nice to coach someone else for a change. I could have totally done with out the torrential down pours and flooding for sure!
You are right I will get it soon. And you know Richard will come up with some crazy evil stuff to whip me into place in no time! Hahaha He sure is a creative guy! My new favorite Richard saying is, "If you lift like that you will like yourself better."
My chin still hurts so bad. I can not believe there is not this HUGE bruise on my chin!
That mirror and lighting was tempting. I am sure hubs is wishing I had taken it but it is nice to look in the mirror and like what you see and be happy with who you are! Thanks for the support Woody!Spoon Barbell Club
