wondering what everyone's picking strategy is

I typcially look at all the games and write down what I think the line is. Then I compare to the actual lines and see where the difference between my line and the official one is and go with one of those.
I have been doing this with my NFL picks for years and it seems to work well for me.

How long does that take you? I look over the lines once and then just go with my gut.

NFL picks take 45-60 minutes...Because I pick the lines along with Bill Simmons and Cousin Sal on the BS Report Podcast
NCAA probably 15 minutes (most of the time I stay away from ranked teams' games)

I'm thinking of setting up a bowl pick'em contest but haven't decided if..

1. Pick winner/loser
2. Pick spreads
3. Have a bonus feature.. You basically rank your bowl games on how confident you are. It's like a 1-30 type thing & if you get that game right, you get the # of bonus points. It helps tie breakers but it takes more time to pick.

Edit: it would be set up on a site so you could make all picks on there & then we could just have a chat thread set up for it
