180 looks great on you Larry! You've got really strong chest, trap, shoulder and arm development and you've got an awesome V going with your lat spread. I'm mirin' those teardrops and quad cuts as well
That's not a bad head of hair either at 67

Ha, the wife hates my old sandals - threatens them with the garbage can.
Tryin' to play the size game again. Hate the thought of giving back LBM for cuts.
Took me quite some time to get out of that mindset. Happy here ................for
now.
Thanks jonny. Just finished reading about your big squatter day. Jelly bro.
I hear ya'. Every time I look in the mirror, all I see is backfat.
I'd trade for your quads in a heartbeat Andrew. Thanks anyway.
Forgot to comb over my baldspot b4 pics.

Thanks Roberts. Most of my friends in my age group have their butts glued to a recliner.
I'm hoping to escape that.
Love the military press. Throw back to my old oly days.
Thanks A. I was pressing bwt at 160#. Now at 180# - not so much. Working at it though.
Thank you Mr. mirror for your kind words. Trying to keep up with you younger fellas keeps me honest.

Squats- tripped on the walkout on the 240# set. Wasted a lot of energy. Almost
aborted the set, but it turned out ok.
Bench - still keeping total reps down here. Seems to be treating my shoulders well.
Paused the 1st rep of 230#, touch and go on the second.
BOR - bumped this a nickel. Felt good.
Skullz - thank goodness for 1.25# plates. I think I'm near my top end here.Last edited by ljimd; 08-25-2014 at 10:04 AM.

Thanks Andrew. I'm thinking hard about chasing higher reps and go searching for my lost abs.
The respect goes both ways. If I could match your work ethic, attention to detail, knowledge and
grit, my worries would be few.

Noticed I was long overdue for a deload. Also decided to up the reps for a while
and drop rest time to 1 min. and wts 30/40%. Wow, found this a tad more taxing than
normal. Guess I need some endurance work.
Squats - pause 3 sec in the hole.
Bench - 2 sec pause.
BOR - tried for at least 1 good sec pause top and bottom.
Chins - wide grip slow and fluid with good bottom stretch.

Changed things up some today. I was getting stale on the OHP and
my BOR form was getting a little sloppy. I kinda decided against going
all out high reps but am going to use high rep back off sets when my
energy level allows. I'll keep squatting and benching of Mon and Fri.
I've dropped my protein from@180gr/day to @150 and added the cals
back with some fats (olive oil). Toying with diet.

Sorry been a bit absent Larry. Having caught up some and besides the hard work you put in I have to say if I met you in real life and you told me your were 67 my mind would be blown. I'm terrified of aging and have a "milestone" bday coming up in Dec (40 ) but seeing what you do and the way you've been able to maintain yourself gives me some hope :P

I too, have been less than a prolific poster but I'm a great lurker.
Thanks for your kind words. As for your hopes for the future in the "game",
I think you've already displayed the hard work, common sense and
dogged determination that will assure a long and truly bright future with the iron.
Your numbers already far surpass what most will ever achieve. And for that
"diet monkey" on your shoulder, you'll get the best of him too.
Watching young fellas such as you progress makes me smile and drag my
aged butt into the gym day after day. You guys inspire me also.
There was a time I thought 40 was the end for me, lol. You'll look and smile
one day when some "over the hill" 40 yo dreads his next birthday.
Give 'em hell John.

It's hard to even consider 40 'old' any more and you've confirmed to me that 60s doesn't need to be old either. So much is a state of mind

Squats felt heavy today. Didn't get all my reps at 210 on the bench. Easy goes it.
Attended the wife's family reunion Sunday in upstate NY and ate like a starving dog.
Had a Tim Horton's doughnut on the drive home. Life is good.

Tim Horton's for the win I live in Canada and have access to one on pretty much every street corner and pretty much don't go one work day without at least 2 stops there.
Nice workout. I like the attitude about not hitting reps. I can learn a thing or two in here. I'm always way to hard on myself for that.365 255 480 in April! ...2019
