No, they are rich because they were raised by affluent Jewish parents and had a much easier up-bringing than most people not to mention had a free ride at "x" prestigous university. If you think Lloyd Blankfein is a rich wall street exectuive because he was frugal and ate packaged rice all day long while growing up then you are all sadly mistaken. He was never frugal. He was never humble. He buys watches more than the homes of miscers parents. I'm sick of hearing, "Oh, he's rich because he doesn't spend money on lots of clothes!" the thing is he spends hundreds of thousands on clothes. Saving your money and living off beans while renting a cockroach infested apartment doesn't make you rich, this is peasant miscer mentality.

Seriously, GOOD suits are phucking expensive as all hell. Problem is the bad ones are hard to differentiate from the good so why not get some bang for your buck. But I'm certain some dudes wear some clothes akin to the ones in OP's post, but it's not a good look for a businessman on the clock.

I know quiet a few wealthy people.

In general, self made people are a lot more conservative in lifestyle/dress. Most of them you'd never guess as being rich because their daily driver is an average vehicle and they dress average. If you go to their house its usually a nice house and they usually have a nice car as well.


People born into money tend to respect it less so they blow it on frivolous things. They are also a lot more likely to fail/end up broke unless daddy is still running finances for them and gives them a healthy allowance.



And OP, rich people are not hipster *******s like those in the link you posted.

I work on Wall Street.

The people you will usually see dressing that way are junior folks as they're younger and care more about fashion.

The more senior guys don't wear that kind of **** (can you imagine a 50 yr old man wearing a slim fit suit LOL) but don't mistake their suits as not being expensive. Pretty sure Blankfein's tie + suit are pretty expensive. Should also look at the watch as many have pretty expensive watches as well.

Edit: Also, if you are 50 yrs old wearing that **** to a client meeting, you're going to get laughed out of the room (especially considering that many of the companies you will work with come from places that are much less fashion forward than NYC).

because they simply dont care. they have everything else they want, and they have the attitude/personality so that if they wanted to dress flashy and be ripped, they could do it in a snap of the fingers.

IRL, most of the time if i guy dresses super nice like all the photos posted ITT, he is a *******, not hating, being completely serious. having met with/talked with/bullsh*tted with business guys, 9/10 of them look down on a guy who dresses flashy and flamboyant like all the model shots ITT, nothing wrong with a properly fitting high quality suit...but when you start pushing the limits its prob not gonna work in your favor
