Help with vegan protein powder?

I am not vegan, my friend is. I'm trying to help her but I really don't know where to start since I am not vegan.
I've looked online for a 'vegan' protein powder but I'm not sure which to pick. I think she also mentioned she was allergic to soy but I can't remember if it was her or someone else. Any suggestions?
What would you mix the protein powder with? just water?

You can find PEA protein out there, not sure of what companies make it though. You sacrifice some taste, but I believe it would work for a vegan.

Anyway look at hemp or pea protein like other people said. Or try to convince her that being vegan is ridiculous if it's not for medical reasons.

Pea & rice combo has the best BV of all vegan protein powders & is commercial. The rest are typically <80.

Many vegans have a soy free diet either due to health scares or it being a common allergen. Its not a staple in vegan diets, now vegan raw foodist is a ridiculous diet that cuts out staples of vegan diets like lentils/beans/grains.

I gotcha man. I personally think it's just unnatural (yes I used that word) for the human body to live without meat when you consider all the benefits.

In addition to Vega (hemp protein), there's SunWarrior (brown rice protein). Be warned that Vega turns everything green which freaked me out psychologically after a while but SunWarrior blends quite normally into all kinds of foods (from sweet to savory). Only tried Natural from each brand so can't speak to the flavors. Also, I think it's good to switch proteins out occasionally. Just an opinion, not based on fact. Both have approx 20g protein per serving.
