    BCAAs

    So I understand I get BCAAs in my diet, but I just have a question about it. So I see some BCAAs have a 3:1:2 formula, and some have a 4:1:1 ratio and then I have seen others. I am just curious what the difference is, and in theory which is best for recovery and whatnot.

    2:1:1 is really the only proven ratio. Any other ratio is either for marketing gimmic, or for cost reasons. Total protein intake and sleep effect recovery much more than using a BCAA drink around a workout.

    Oh no no, you misunderstand. I understand I get them in my diet, I am just curious because I have seen the different ratios, and was just a curiousity I needed satisfied haha

    On the topic of BCAA ratios I've heard the other ratios besides 2:1:1 are whack because if you want to incease lucine you would also have to increase the iso-lucine and valine as well for it to be more effective. Not sure if it's true or not, just something I read.

    Most studies that have been done have shown the 2:1:1 ratio of bcaa's is the most effective form.
