    Newbie - help please loosing fat

    hiya all,

    I am new to this! I am pretty good at managing my weight really successfully, however I have no idea on how to loose body fat and from reading a few posts I think I am going about it completely wrong.

    I am 40 years old and been doing body pump on and off now for 10 years between having children. This year I have been trying to do exercise 3 times per week and now I am trying to do 2* body pump and 1* circuit training. I say trying as I have 2 young children and things come up!

    I currently weigh 142 lbs however I normally weigh about 138 (I have put on weight with the Hols). As normal for me I go on a cal restricted diet (1200 cals) to get my weight back down again and I am half way down to loosing my wt again. The prob is, is that I have quite a high body fat 29% according to my new scales and I can feel it around my bottom, love handles, thighs etc. and I would really like to do something about it. I can not lift heavy heavy weights due to a problem I have with the nerves in my left elbow and I also have crappy knees so unfortunately everything I do has to be built up slowly and gently. I do a fair wt now at body pump.

    Can anyone recommend what I should do to reduce my weight down to 135 lbs and reduce my bodyfat% I have put my target at 24% , but I have no idea whether this is achievable for me.

    Am guesing your a girl ammaright?

    If you are and being 5.9 with 142Pounds your not any higher than 25% that's for sure would need to be 150+

    And about what your eating is it mostly carbs or a high fiber/protein diet? You could try a high protein diet with really low carb and get rid of 10pounds of water weight or more since your doing exercise

    The protein will be used to repair muscle tissues and the energy you need while carbs are used for fast acting energy and it makes the body retains water^^
