I have recently injured my shoulder. The physiotherapist has indicated I may have a tear in my Infraspinatis (Muscle and tendon of the rotator cuff). I have a new recovery program to help build stability in the entire shoulder. However, I was told it could be anything from a 4 to 8 week recovery period (I'm hoping it's only 4).
For people that have experienced this injury are you able to provide me how long it has taken you to recover.

Just went through one about 6 weeks ago. I'd say I have another 2 - 3 weeks. Recovery time would be around 7 weeks then because there's a difference between healing and recovery.
Make sure not to get stressed about it and learn from it. I had a back injury last year and took me 8 months to get back because I was stressed out, which severely exacerbated the pain and made me fearful of the gym. Look at this website bboyscience.com It has helped me so much. Good luck manLifting, eating, sleeping

I was thinking I might actually have a tear in one of my spinatus muscles too...
How did you physiotherapist determine you had a tear?
And in your mind, how did you know it was severe enough to see your doctor in the first place? I think I just have a strain but I'm debating it...and I don't really want to spend the money for a doctors appointment and him sending me to the specialist or whatever.Last edited by nastynas33; 08-22-2012 at 10:55 AM.
