GTA4 was made years ago. They get better at designing games for the consoles. For example look at the graphics of GTA3 and then GTASA both on PS2. Massive difference. You really think they will spend all that money on development and release it on consoles that don't even have 10million units out there?

The RAGE engine has improved bro it now supports DX11, 3d, etc. The 360 doesn't even support that.

Yes it is improved, that doesn't make it a next gen engine. Also Next gen may not even be DX11, but will most likely include a lot of the features found in it. Also remember Playstation consoles never are Direct X compatible as it is a Microsoft API

RAGE, CryEngine 3, FB2, thses all are nexte gen engines to the current consoles. They are just being watered down for the consoles. These are next gen engines, the current consoles are holding these engines back.


Cyrisis 2 and 3 would have been a monster if the weren't developing games for the current consoles. The same applies to Battlefield 3, and Battlefield 4 will also be watered down for the consoles. You will probably never see the true potential of these engines because of console gaming. Sadly this will never be fixed because people will still pirate pc games and the developers will just ignore pc gamers and develop games for the consoles where more money can be made.

I'm more interested in the main character, story mode, side missions, fun stuff to actually do which was non existent in GTA IV. The guy is a latino who's got a family is balding and looks like a Bruce Willis in his 40's, hope they get it right.

RAGE was designed for the current gen systems, it is not a next gen engine despite receiving some updates so it can run some newer things on PC. PS3 and 360 were outdated compared to PC's about a year after they were released. Consoles are always far behind PC's, and by the looks of things, the next gen consoles are not even going to be as powerful as current PC's, but this doesn't matter because consoles are closed systems so developers can get much more performance from them anyway.
