I hate to get started here, but...
1. Yes obviously universal health care is f*cking good. Everyone SHOULD have health care. And here's an idea--they can even pay for it themselves! It's not like Obama is GIVING everyone health care--the costs are split up among everybody via taxes (though not evenly). Except to a higher degree, because universal health care removes a LOT of the competition in the field. And competition, for anyone who has ANY understanding in economics, is what drives down price and drives up quality.
2. And...? So you are basically coming out and saying that you don't expect to make more of yourself?
3. Here we go again...what don't you like about Romney, especially compared to the majority of other politicians?
Not trying to hate, but spark a critical discussion and have everyone educate each other.Today I'll do what others won't, so tomorrow I can do what others can't.

How is it fair to not make it all cost everyone the same amount? I shouldn't have to pay for some brk fgt to go to the doctor every time he sneezes. That's the problem with liberals. They all think everyone should be entitled to the same things as everyone else but always want someone else to pay for it for them. If we are going on a universal healthcare program everyone who is a part of it should be contributing to it equally.

You'd save money with universal healthcare, you just don't know how to implement it. The proof can be found in every industrialized nation on the planet that pays less per capita for healthcare than the US government despite actually providing it.
And no, I'm not a big supporter of Obama, Americans just don't get this.

I really hope I'm missing something in your post, because my post was talking about how stupid a universal healthcare plan is. In no way am I liberal, and I have no clue how I could have come off as an Obama-supporter from my post.
Please clarify...
Yes, that's why people with money in other countries come to America to have the important procedures done.
These things definitely should affect politics and how the country is run...
Brb Romney is Mormon and therefore can't help develop laws.
Brb Obama isn't Mormon and therefore will be better at getting our country out of the sh*thole it's in.
EDIT: Oh, and please show me a source that says Romney doesn't believe in evolution. I'd LOVE to see it.Today I'll do what others won't, so tomorrow I can do what others can't.

Care to explain? I have no problem with a universal healthcare system. I just have a problem with how Obama plans to implement it. Frankly the way it has been presented there is no way it will be sustainable. Also there is clearly a reason why the entire congress excepted themselves from the plan.
Also I don't think it is right to make the wealthy few pay for the coverage of everyone else.

more charismatic and also black so it gives america 'street cred' i believe is the term. but both represent the same corporate interests
consider how much of their wealth is dependent on the work force and public infrastructure in general. without a healthy, educated workforce they wouldn't have had any of their success, contrary to all the self-reliance rhetoric that gets thrown around.Last edited by OPISAPHA; 08-18-2012 at 11:34 PM.

You are only further reiterating my point...the demand is virtually eliminated with a universal system (what Obama's ideal would be) because the government would "pay" for everyone's health care via taxes, whereas currently people have the option to "shop around" and find the best quality / least expensive option.
As such, quality would almost surely suffer and costs would increase (though you wouldn't see it as directly because it is all through taxes) with a universal system.Today I'll do what others won't, so tomorrow I can do what others can't.

writing in paul because unlike many, I understand that you are able to vote for ANYBODY. it is not a choice solely between romney or obama. voting for either is a waste of a vote; and you're voting for the same status quo. don't trick yourself into thinking you're making a choice (lol, that is the illusion of government)

Actually, the demand to choose would still be there.
You can go private if you want, or you can take the public option.
But with the plan, it forces almost all 300,000,000 americans to get healthcare instead of those that feel it's worth it for them.
So more demand will definitely exist.
Your point comes form the belief that a government run healthcare system kills competition because private business are inherently unable to compete against a government entity.
I don't know if this is true or not, but I'm willing to bet it depends on the implementation of said governmental entity.
We will see. Your point could very well be true but it doesn't have to be.
