“One problem with IF for people who are looking to optimize muscle mass is that fasting decreases protein synthesis significantly and you cannot simply make up for a lack of protein throughout the day by overconsuming it at a few others. There is a cap on the effective dose of protein to stimulate muscle anabolism and above that you are really getting no added benefit. One of the experiments we did for my PhD thesis (which we are currently in the process of attempting to publish) actually examined protein distribution and found exactly what we suspected… that eating low protein early in the day could not be made up for by eating a very large protein meal later in the day. After 11 weeks the subjects eating unevenly distributed protein intake actually had smaller muscles than subjects fed relatively equal doses of protein. I personally believe that many of the fat loss benefits of IF can be had consuming protein only meals throughout the day and then just bolusing intermittent carb intake rather than just all out fasting.”

Yes, you have to eat 6 meals a day. If you can't eat 6 meals, no problem kiddies! Just save up your lunch money and buy Layne's supplement stack http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/layn...ion-stack.html
Remember, Layne knows what's best for you. He has your best interests at mind and would never lie to you. Those silly supplement companies that sponsor him mean nothing to him.
Just work hard, and buy Layne's supplements and you can look just like him! No celltech needed.
If you think Layne's supplements are too expensive, ask yourself, WILL YOU SACRIFICE TO WIN?

Well I guess Layne Norton is starting to lose his credibility now.
BRB dropping fat, keeping lean mass, and strength looking jooocy, brahs.
By the way.. IF actually helps massively with absorption.. even the juice heads are claiming they can use lesser dosage and still get great gains.أشهد أن لا إله إلاَّ الله Ùˆ أشهد أن Ù…Øمد رسول الله

Well he used the word optimal, possibly meaning IF is not the optimal meal timing compared to traditional spread out meals but that doesn't mean you won't see gains similar to a traditional bodybuilding diet. So if you were going to compete you would use a traditional diet layout to get the greatest effect and get the extra edge, whereas IF is fine for bodybuilding as a hobby and the diet isn't as good for those competing but that doesn't mean it isn't just 1% more beneficent. Or I could be completely wrong. I don't know PM him he mods here lol.

In for discussion of this. Interested in IF. This month's Muscle & Fitness actually has an article touting it.
"Above all, we must realize that no arsenal, or no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women. It is a weapon our adversaries in today's world do not have."--Ronald Reagan
“Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength.”--Arnold Schwarzenegger
