TBH having Machida rematch after only 1 fight in between for Machida makes no sense. The guy lost extremely convincingly and all it does is waste 4+ months of time jones could be training against a new competitor, should he win of course.

Lol this. Machida will have only defeated one person in the time jones will have defended twice ( if he beats Hendo). Then factoring in that in the first fight jones was in no danger and literally choked machida until he was out. This rematch would be like when they let Franklin rematch silva(except worse since machida only has one win).
I'm a huge machida fan and I do believe he poses the best chance of beating jones, but it's very understandable why jones has no interest.
I really want silva vs jones, but I guess the issue with that fight is probably more from silva's camp then jones. Maybe if jones really won't rematch machida nor move up Dana will throw enough money at silva to make the move.

yeah totally bro! same with GSP he is a poosy for not going to middleweight to fight anderson!! we've been asking for years!! puss
And den der is Anderson...big poosy who won't fight jon jones at light heavyweight even tho he walks around above 200 pounds!! and then he tries his best to become best friends with Jon Jones just to duck him like a poosy.
Did Josy Aldo come up to face Edgar??? nope...poossy. Aldo is probably bigger but stay down at da poosy weight!
then dominick poo POOZ who hides from aldo at bantamweight cuz he scurred...he loses to Faber at featherweight and then runs away like a poosy to bantamweight
Bendo loses to a featherweight in Edgar but keeps the belt anyways...he is like a tree trunk and prety much same size as GSP but he wont move up..possy
and Josephy Benavidez who sucks and cant beat Dominick Cruz so he drops to flyweight ...that poosy
JDS is only non-poosy in UFC. sad state of MMA rite now
since 2011 Jon poosy Jones has only BEAT Ryan Bader, Shogun Rua(former champ), Rampage Jackson(former champ), Lyoto Machida(former champ) and Rasheed Evans(former champ)...pathetic list. Now he is clearly afraid of facing Lyoto Machida..ducking him obviously cuz he can't beat him. And he won't fight Brock Lesnar either or Cain Velasquez...he is too good at LHW so he needs to man up and fight heavyweight afterall he is already 25 years old and might not get the chance in 3 years when he is 28 years old... the same age as JDS is now.Last edited by Beasly3333; 08-19-2012 at 02:11 AM.

while i dont agree with his attitude i believe this is exactly what he is saying... machida sold the least amount of fights which translated into "the fans dont want this fight as much as others"
just because you want to see it does not mean the majority of fans do. hes not putting on fights for just you, its for the most amount of people that want to see it.

Ehm, Jones doesnt want this because it wont get enough PPV's. Seems like what he sais is exactly in the fans' interest, since that seems to be the fight that the least amount of fans wants to see. Usually I dont like it when fighters say they dont want a fight, but this argument is actually valid. If it was a good PPV, or had Jones not defeated Macida in a convincing fashion already, then things would be different for me. Jones has nothing to prove @ LHW, so just give him fights with new opponents if they make sence and let him prove himself again, or give him fights with old contenders that people want to pay for. Machida is neither of those.

I agree partially. If you take Weidmann vs Silva for instance, then I think Silva should fight, because it actually makes sence in some way. Jones vs Machida doesnt make money and doesnt make sence. I think Jones is right by saying what he does, and that beeing said, he will fight Machida if they give him the fight, and he will finish him again. Maybe just for that, I would want the fight to happen. I wander what the haters will say then.

Again there is a difference between a fighter voicing his preferences, and those preferences actually becoming reality. UFC fighters don't have the same pull as boxers who make $30mil per fight. They aren't picking their fights, they are voicing their opinions. If Uncle Dana wants a fight to happen, its happening.

One can make an argument Shogun deserves it before Machida, but it's not really Jones choice either way...
the fact that he mentions a few other names like Rampage and Rashad is absolutely retardedGuided by the רוח הקודש

Jones got hit title shot by beating Bader.
Weidman vs Silva does not make sense or money. Especially not money.
I know who Blatnick is, he's a wrestler who made the unified rules have a very heavy emphasis on takedowns and top control, among other things. He did a lot for the sport, but his ideas are outdated and he shouldn't still be judging. Or are you defending whoever it was that is a high level professional in the sport of MMA yet has no idea how to spell "guillotine"?"The sun is always gonna rise, and always gonna set and I'll just keep on punching because everyday is gonna bring something different and I just want to be ready for it."

If you refer to a fighter who you've never met in real life as "my boy" as though their performance somehow reflects well on you for simply being a fan, you're a lame ass.

I'll give you that, but Machida made him look more human than anyone else has. He showed some small holes in JBJ's game that he might be able to to take advantage of, moreso than even Rashad did in five rounds. I think that's the reason he should be given another shot.

Not when the rematches are with fighters who got clearly outclassed or finished, which is the topic at hand now. Maybe you should join the rest of us by reading the thread then come back and post once you're on the same page.
Shogun is 3 fights removed from his fight with Jones. One of those fights he lost. He also got decimated by Jones.
Machida is only 1 fight removed from his fight with Jones. In his last 5 fights including Jones he's 2-3. He got choked unconscious by Jones.Last edited by JAGERBOY; 08-19-2012 at 11:35 AM.
