It might be an acquired taste but there's beers that taste good as hell OP. Sam Adams Winter Lager is fukkin delicious and their Cherry Wheat after a hot summer day of work- fuuuuaaark.


Also you've obviously never tried a "Red Death" before. Tastes like fruit punch and gets you HAMMERED. FOrget what's in it but there's like 4 types of alcohol iirc.

Well it's aquired. At first, it tastes nasty, sort of like veggies do as a kid.

But then I start to relate the taste with the feeling I get, and that feeling is good. After longer periods of time, I actually begin to respect the subtle flavors and bite I get when drinking beer, or liquor. Beer is definitely more of a beverage, to drink with a meal. Straight liquor, I much prefer to take shots of. I still like the aftertaste of tequile (so strong!!) and whiskey. Vodka and rum are meh

Some wheat beers, like Hoegaarden, really taste refreshing and I love adding a hint of lime or lemon

Does anyone else hate when people say they drink beer, wine etc. "for the taste"? I guarantee if beer, wine, liquor etc. didn't have alcohol in it, people wouldn't drink it.

Most people don't drink for the taste of alcohol. They drink for the buzz of the alcohol and the taste of the ingredients it is mixed with. That is why I never do shots of pure spirits. It tastes foul.

Some people just don't appreciate the taste of beer or liquor. Beer reminds me of drinking a soda, refreshing carbonation, but without tons of sugar.

Agreed.

Never been a fan of hard alcohol because it's a bit too much. Never been a fan of beer either because of the carbonation.

However, my dad's made wine my entire life. Use to not like it as a kid. However, I appreciate all the steps that it goes through and it's actually a good hobby; from the picking, crushing, bottling, and labeling. Here in Washington we have some pretty good local wines. It also feels good to support local business.

It's all acquired taste you dip****. Nobody just drinks it and then likes it immediately. You drink it a bunch and then over time, you grow to like the taste as you get used to it as well as associating the feeling of the buzz with the taste of that particular drink.

This. When I first started drinking Maker's Mark I hated it. I kept drinking it and now I really enjoy the taste of it. So much so that I use it in glazes and sauces (boiled down to the point of no alcohol).

I completely agree with this, always hated the taste of beer... only drink it to get wasted. It tastes fuking bitter to me and I also don't understand how people actually like the taste.
