03-04-2013, 07:11 PM #4171You have the lower body and you have no upper body, you got a problem building...wait a minute. You have the upper body, and you have no legs, you got a problem building your legs. You have the upper...you have the lower body and you don't have the upper body, the upper body, it is easier to build. So if you have the lower body and you don't have the upper body, it is easier to build the upper body. You have the upper body and you don't have the legs, you got a problem building the lower body

Looking for new tattoo artists in the Philadelphia tri-state area to patronize. I like the guy I go to now but he leans more towards a modern type book and Im looking for someone more towards black details and portraits. Also if possible would love to find a female artist for the wife. Asking around seems to just be producing a ton of useless recommendations. Everyone seems to just be mentioning any and all tattoo parlors that they know of rather then anyone with a good rep.

Sort of.... The wife recently had one done that was partially on the side of her boob and ribs. She didnt want a guy doing it so we found a female artist who did a good job but the wife didnt like the parlor itself and wont go back. She now seems kinda set on getting some type of garter belt and gun tat just searching for a good design first and she still would be more comfotable with a women inking her leg then a man.

its really a limiting factor when choosing an artist tbh, theres already a huge disportpotion in female to male tattoo artists ratio. i feel like if you found a professional artist who takes pride in his work there wouldnt be an issue.

Agreed. She would rather go to our guy Matt in Pottstown compared to the place that had the female artist on South Street again. But it doesnt hurt to ask if there by chance happens to be anyone else in the area that fits both preferences. But of course quality is the highest priority.

Thanks I'll try to look her and the parlor up.
I found the place and the name of the lady that did her boob tat, it was Tina Marie De Carlo at No Ka Oi Tiki Tattoo on South St. I'll have to take a look and see if she works out of any other location. She did a nice job it was just the parlor that was a bit unprofessional. They inked her right in the middle of the parlor with just like a towel covering her up. And I didnt find out about it till afterwards but apparently one of the male artists was creeping on her when I went out for a bit

Pretty much. Lil b and jun seem to do more faces. Noah does more full body sculpture tats.
Fernie is doing a piece that he has done before and did an incredible job on it. I'm hoping it turns out the same.
For roman, I love his or bio mechanical and day of the dead girls, so he is going to do a mix of the two.
Edit:
Just received final confirmation email for jun's appt. It said to bring $2500 for first appt. Lawd. Peppering angus as we speak.Last edited by byrnebv; 03-05-2013 at 04:09 PM.

Whats funny is after all this ink master crap started A LOT of artists on my ******** feed starting stating they're upping their pricing "Phillip Spearman" being one. He said he was going from $200hr (maybe it was $250) to $350hr ROFL. His quality of work is know where near what he charges. The mofo cant draw a straight line to save his life. Blows my mind people shell out that kind of dough for such average work.
Either I read it somewhere or someone here stated Robert Pho charges $300hr. Really like his work but his shading on most pieces seems to be very light. Not sure how something so light and delicate would hold up over time vs going darker? Its not about how much you can lift but how much you look like you can lift.
