Thanks for the advice man! I'm a first generation American from an Irish family, and we're huge about our ancestry. I'm not doing a celtic theme to be cool; it actually has a meaning with me.

No doubt man, all power to you then brother handle that ! Its definitely gona be dope though. Just get some ideas though pull up some real life armor references and have somebody do a realism similar design with some cool effects. It'll definitely cost you double, but be srsly worth it.

here's a pretty good instagram link. @tracemaster exposes artists that ripoff other artist's work. they post a side by side of the tattoo in question and post their name and instagram handle (if the ripoff artist's identity is known).

there are some straight up horrific copies out there.

Had my first drawing appt with Brian Donovan on the coverup (tribal dragon).

As you can see its going to be a St Michael the Archangel theme on the upper arm. Eventually getting the inside done as well.

He still needs to finish the bottom half.

very nice, I'm thinking along the same lines, B&G with hints of color. Can't complain about them being underrated though, Paul got back to me within the same day, where as other artists I can't even get a response.

anyway, i'm from tucson and i got my first and only piece by johnny ray. i picked him because 1) his work was featured on a cover of tattoo magazine and 2) i was 18 and not as critical of who did what in the tattoo world. this was also before the internet as we know it.

although i'm not particularly "ashamed" of my piece, knowing what i know now...not even once.

yeah easily, the pigment was faded as well. If it was a dug in dark black fill it would be difficult depending on the design... But that **** would be a walk in the park for even a novice artist. LOL.

Don't be ashamed of anything you're not planning on covering. It was your first tattoo regardless. I got a huge tribal when i was younger on my arm for my first tattoo.. Not only did it come out ****ty, but i overpaid probably about 5x more than i should have cause i didnt know
Oh wellll. Still have plenty of room on my body =) i get something done nearly every 1-2 months. Shop for artists to do specific styles on you jus so you can say "i got tattooed by xxxx"..But also find an artist you can develop a relationship with. Its just a better experience and more convenient.

without a doubt. that is so tiny and faded that it could have been covered up with no trace of the prior tattoo. realistically, probably one good laser session would have it gone

Tell robert to do something like that. He can definately do it. Ive searched all the top artists, even talked to a few about booking apts. But i couldnt wait 1-2 or even 3 yrs, I got ancy and searched hard. Found robert and he is top 10 i would say. His realism is pretty freakin top level. And his staue work is top level as well. What are you planning to get BTW.
