So cool that Gio remembered your daughter
I second the comment about your busy weekends ... crazy! My wife and I are fully opposite right now before the baby comes ... taking advantage of having time to sit around and relax lol

Thanks Ladies I eventually self medicated at 2:30am with Nyquil and finally fell asleep at 3ish. Up at 8 to get two girls (Lexi had a friend sleep over) ready for hockey. Stupid wind was blowing up to 60mph and must have sent something down the street about 6 as the dogs started growling and barking cause really I needed that.
Last night was better in bed by 9:30 and a half decent sleep except the flipping dogs wanting out twice argh. hubz and Xavier were in a town 3 hours away for a hockey tournament so was just Lexi and I this weekend. Her two games didn't go well but she played well so that is the only thing we ask of her. Boys had fun at their tournament even though it didn't go the way they planned lol
I had my hair done again on Friday and took it even shorter on the one side, like a pixie and love it!
LEGS
wall Ball Squats:
+30lb DB x 8, 8, 8, 8
RDL:
135 x 8, 155 x 5, 155 x 5, 155 x 5
Lumberjack squats: (also stolen from Lori )
+45 x 5, 5, 5
Ball Leg Curls
10,10,10
Inner/Outer/Glute
10/10/15 x 3 per leg
That calls it a day.
I am very thankful for a short week and a holidays on Friday as I had a really rough Friday at work. I was told that my job is being eliminated as they are reorganizing the accounting group back into the operations of each company and having them run independent so both my CFO and I are being phased out. I haven`t been given notice and they are prepared to offer me a projects job for as long as we agree on projects that need to be completed - this could be a good or bad thing as its hard when you know there is an undefined end date. Also depends on whether they are going to back the projects title with money to complete those projects! I have to meet with the President when I get back with a list of what I would like to accomplish and we will go from there. I have to update my resume (been at my current job 3 years in June) and start looking. I was very happy where I was and I guess a good thing is that my CFO has offered to remain my mentor even when we are no longer working together. Last time I job hunted it took me a year to find what I wanted as I am very picky and I have also realized how much work life balance means to me and that isn`t always easy to find."That's not sweat that's your fat cells crying" anonymous

It's never easy having a kink put in your career plans. Are you in a position to make the situation be what you want? You said it took you a year last time to find the right fit. That sounds to me like you at least have some ability to wait it out to get what you want, which is a nice place to be. I've been in the desperate and will take anything position before and it sucks beyond measure.

thanks guys, I am sure some folks wonder why I'm pouring my heart out to "strangers" but this is a safe place to do it. No one in my company knows of the transactions that are occurring and I really am not ready to talk about it to my family (obviously other than hubz) as I am feeling like a bit of failure even though I know it wasn't all me on top of that news it was combined with my annual review which was really tough since my CFO knew what was happening when he wrote up my review and wanted me to be able to learn and improve myself.
I'm in a bit of a rock and hard place in my career as I can chose to follow more money - but that means less work/life balance and more on the job time or find a similar or lower level placement that gives me that balance but less money. I had the best of both worlds here and I am realistic enough to know that isn't going to be the case in the future.
I can be somewhat picky in finding a new job as they haven't provided me notice (working or otherwise) but I know what is happening. They would have to pay me out if they full out terminate me which would give me about 6 months to find something but I prefer to be working until I find new employment but if it doesn't happen in the new 3-4 months then may have to take a payout and go from there. It also depends on what they will allow me to do as a projects person because if there is no money to back it then there is really no projects which means termination will come quickly. Once my CFO is gone in May I will be more concerned with that as he is "protecting" my interests.
Another wrinkle or not is that hubz and I have discussed possibly moving south (Texas) and maybe this is the catalyst to go. We were not quite prepared to yet but I may expand my search to the Houston area and see what happens. Part of the reason we weren't quite ready is that the dollar has dropped quite a bit with the oil crisis and we would lose a lot of our "savings" to move to the US. One good thing is with being a designated accountant I can obtain a 3 year working visa as long as I can prove I have a job in the US, it is part of the NAFTA agreement. Hubz being an electrician should also be able to find employment but may be tougher as he would have to go an alternative route to get his visa, if anyone knows anything about these processes let me know."That's not sweat that's your fat cells crying" anonymous

Oh so sorry to hear about your job. That is a real bummer not knowing when it will come to an end. Everything happens for a reason and maybe this happened to get you guys to Texas sooner than you think. I hope everything works out for you and your family!

Hiya DM
Interesting news about the job - I am not going to say "sorry" because this may very well be the beginning a new and unexpected chapter of your lives (be it in Texas or not) and I am a firm believer in framing things that way
Workouts looking great - you must be so excited about vacay - I sensed your drive to come back strong and focused in one of your posts in the June 1st thread and it was great to see

Thanks Ladies.
I agree CC I am sure it is going to be for the best, I had inklings to start looking to for something new but wanted to get through summer and enjoy my perks then have a deep thoughts about what I wanted to accomplish. My work is very frustrating in a sense for accomplishing things for example we did corporate amalgamations Nov 1 and are still in the process of name changing/changing bank info etc which is causing me lots of headaches with CRA and with our import/export items and we are how many months later...
I am sure it is a blessing in disguise and I think that right now I am just licking my wounds cause I feel like I took a major hit to my confidence after my review and feel like if it really was that bad why didn't we work on things sooner so I think I need to take some of it with a grain of salt and remember that it is only one person's opinion and it doesn't change who I am in the core of me.
I am contacting a couple of recruiters today as I have finished updating my resume and starting the process, I want to be in a position of power when it comes time for me to leave it I can. There was two jobs posted that I would have never seen if I didn't have my meeting on Friday that look interesting to me - again may be a bit lower pay but if I am happy and challenged and have work/life balance that is key to me. $$ isn't everything.

Quite the heavy update in here on the job front. I'm glad to see you're looking at it a positive way though. Change could potentially be good! Keep your chin up and that positive attitude, and I definitely agree with the work/life balance. It's something I've really learned in western Canada. Southern Ontario is all about the work ... my wife and I were so much more stressed out when we lived there.
Sounds like the vacation is coming at a great time for you. Enjoy it!Training Log - The long overdue comeback: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=171218951

Hi DM Sorry to hear about the job situation. Losing a job always hurts I think. Even when you leave voluntarily. And it really hurts when you get a review and it isn't clear why feedback wasn't provided sooner. It's like they expect you to be psychic or something... I firmly believe that when the universe closes a door to you, it opens a window for you. And if you have the ability to be a little picky, this could be a golden opportunity for you to find something that will be a perfect fit for you.
On the lighter side, your workouts look great! And your vacay is going to be awesome and I am mad jealousJournal: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=163596431

That's the spirit DM! I like CC's view on it...think of it as a new beginning, not an end Who knows where you'll end up or where live will take you, but with your experience and qualifications I can't imagine you'll end up anywhere too bad Just keep preparing yourself and keep your eyes peeled for opportunities like you're doing and you'll be fine
