the commonwealth edge gives it to London,
Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africans, are more aware of London history/Landmarks than NYC.
I Imagine most of the population of other commonwealth countries have family in England,
FYI, it's a pilgrimmage to see "old blighty" for many australians.
They both are up in top tier tho.always rep back

Been to both. Love Manhattan and loved the area I stayed in London.
Now, are we comparing all of NYC to London, or just Manhattan? If just Manhattan I think they are even.
What about crime? I think the other boroughs or NYC would bring down the total score because of crime/gangs/etc.
Women are def. better in NYC
Food is better in NYC
London has better history, possibly better museums. If not better it would be tied
Both are expensive

I'm from Toronto and I've been to both these cities, so no bias here... but NYC wins this hands down. It's the #1 city in the world in many categories and it's beautiful. If a number of millionaires/important people have the option of living in NYC or London, most would choose NYC, and for a good reason.
Nothing against London though, it's a close 2nd, followed by Tokyo, Paris and Hong Kong.
