So let me in on the secret? Why the hate? I think a lot of it looks cheesy and most of the people who do it make me cringe but theres a new one in my town and i thought about going 3 days a week just for the cardio. Im 195lbs right now and feel sluggish and lethargic as well. Dont get me wrong, im f*cking jacked but would like to be more "athletic"
So let it rip.... why the xFit hate?
for your time

Theres a new facility that just opened up near my house, I'm going to give it a whirl.
Those dudes are all jacked, and strong as phuck, I think the hate comes from bodybuilders insulting "weightlifters" and people riding their dicks to be honest.
Burning near 1000 calories in a 20 minute workout seems pretty intense, maybe people hate it because they can't handle it.#TeamMeatball

It's actually pretty popular with a decent amount of athletes because it helps more with explosiveness than traditional lifting. Really important in sports like baseball, tennis, and the like where being quick is infinitely more important than being strong.
Honestly, who cares? I do kipping when I can't do any more pullups and it definitely helps me gain strength and muscle. As long as people are working out instead of being fatasses, it's a good thing.
The only thing that I think is stupid is the cost. That's a lot of money to shell out.“I think you don't grow up until you stop worrying about other people's purposes or lack of them and find the purposes you believe in for yourself.”- Ender Wiggin, Xenocide
GRR Martin better not pull a Robert Jordan. RIP Jordan and thanks for the ride.

The Miscellaneous has made me hate it because of the posting of people doing the weird pullups and the videos of bad form and them throwing the barbell (see above). I got no problem with people that do it I just hate the ones who go all holier-than-thou on you because they think they're better than you.

Cross fit is a lot of cardio, but they also try to mix in olympic weightlifting moves like a high amount of squats, dead lifts, or clean and jerks. It's a recipe for disaster imo, and in order to be qualified to "Instruct" as a cross fit instructor, you have to go to a 2 day class <- Srs.
So moves like the dead lift when going for reps and high amounts of weight against the clock could equal poor form and lead to injury, which my girlfriend just hurt her knee from the squats.
Look into how long they've been in business op, and look at the patrons there. Don't want you to hurt yourself.Soda free/Pork free

It has always been the haphazardousness of the coaching and the terrible lack of form displayed by most crossfitters. Most of the people who do crossfit are also elitist douches, regardless of whether they are even decent at it.
Plus they dubbed it the sport of fitness, wtf does that even mean?
I will no doubt say that it is effective as a style if you have great technique and a coach to help you. 90% of crossfitters dont have that and get brutal injuries because of it.★cVc★

Most crossfitters have a sense of elitism despite having atrocious lifting form and seem to think their methods are the best way. The crossfitters I've come across in general gyms are inconsiderate *******s too. BRB supersetting 3 olympic platforms for a nonsensical workout, and you can't workout in between my sets. Granted this is from the douchy Austin crossfit population that I've met personally. YMMV.
The "Mommy and me" box jumps made me want to punch a bitch in the face for endangering their infants. Goddamnit.

Team Punishment, go for it dude! Functional strength, and honestly they are all aesthetic as FUARK. It is expensive but its all compound movements and works the whole body like crazy. Rather than just lifting things up and putting them down. Kipping is dumb, but plenty of cross fitters do deadhang too.

My friend dragged me to a couple of Crossfit workouts, so I have a little firsthand experience....
It is a good cardio workout, that's for sure.
You do a lot of core exercises, so I definitely felt it in muscles that I don't normally hit during my normal weights workouts.... i.e. kettlebell swings made my rhomboids say whoa.
There is little focus on chest, so you see a lot of low bodyfat guys with big backs and big shoulders but birdchests... thought that was kind of weird.
All in all, it's not a bad way to supplement a weightlifting regimen. That being said, there were a few times where we did some exercises where it seemed like an injury waiting to happen. I think it is probably smart to go lighter than you think you can on exercises that have that potential.
